The difference that steady and sharpen weaps do at 500 dex, and 1000 dex combined is....
A great 40 extra damage! Equal to about 120 str!*




*when you already have 1000 str.

I wasn't considering steady/sharpen, with them, the dex makes a fair amount of sense... It's still a bit much though.

It's about 45 dmg per 100 str for 1000-1500 str, then 39 damage added per 100 str for 1500+ str.

RunAndSteal, as impressive as your stats are, I think you would be better off converting all of your points in dex, to str.
