Wait till Corrupted Gardens. If you are in too much hurry, get the ice one, along with blue frost Barding and blue hunter set. You can never go wrong with that

For rangers on a budget, I'd go with a wolf as a ranger as you'd need strength in eg and if you use items which boost strength, you can go all dex in stats.
For rangers on a gold spree, get the eggs for a lvl 6 dragon but don't get one, wait for Corrupted Gardens.
