Not a must but your dps won't be nearly as good I'm guessing False. If you're at or above a mob's level then you suffer zero penalty. It only happens when you are below that mob's level. Nobody knows the exact scaling formula, but I know that 10 levels below a boss you'll be doing miniscule damage....

In case people were skimming past the explanation of the auto leveling system, I'll put it in bold one time.

The auto level system does not auto level your character up. It automatically distributes your stat points as they are obtained whilst manually leveling.
