If you have an aggy book and focus offhand (works with adamant wand as well), use to capture damage then take off. Capture data and note stat change, take off offhand and capture data and note stat change.

as far as fire vs ice dps. It really depends on your setup. An ice mage that uses a dl wand with a freezing axe can produce a lot of damage during cooldowns which can out dps a pure casting fire mage. I prefer the Snowbound candycane with an elder blade because that is 250 cold damage per swing and ...

there is also a 1 second delay after casting firebolt before you can cast firestorm due to the traveling of firebolt. I am not sure if it matters how close you stand to the target when casting, but there is a short delay after casting.

I've tested the speed of firebolt several times. I kept getting It at 8 per minute. My speed on firebolt was 7 seconds. The recharge is 6 seconds and cast is 1 second
