I know of a few what are you looking for Jailbroken or Non-Jailbroken? What iOS and device are you going to e doing it on? And donmt pay anyone anything I'll tell you the good ones for free

that app doesnt work, ive tried downloading the irec on my ipod 5 (ios8) and ipod 4 (ios6) it opens the app and the gives a black screen.

Take a look at air server for pc & mac.
This lets you duplicate your screen to your monitor. From there you will need a program to capture your monitor like (screen flow for mac or quicktime 8 / for pc there are a lot more from free to priced ones.)
But air server + screenflow is what I use to record.

Settings --) General --) Accessibility --) Assistive Touch --) On

When you do this the screen won't be black when you're not recording you can turn it off and i would use Shou instead of iRec
