I used to be a record holder myself it's a nice fun competition. Just get all the damage gear you can, and go full focus and ice blast dummies a while. Also ring swapping helps, putting attune rings on, casting attune then put damage rings on and attack. Extra skill points from leveling like you said will also help alot too

Good technqiues thanks for the info but from what I've noticed, damage on dummies doesn't count in rankings, only damage on mobs.
