I'm buying Idols 200g ea and I'm aswell selling Longshot Tome for 7k.

It's b/c the plat convers rate...

Say one elix is 16 plat (in bundles of course), the price should be atleast 3.2k, and 4-5k for any decent profit you get from other things like book of alt (3k, 10 plat), book of reb (5-6k, 20 plat), anc chest (10-12k, 40 plat).

But the price is around 3k now, not very lucrative, hence not alot of ppl sell.

on double plat i got some ancient chests and got 1k plat on my first chest (as i keep bragging about xD)
and got a bunch of elix

but 3k-4k is such a terrible price that i think it would be better for me just to use them instead of selling them...

When I was actively playing, I would happily sell any amount of exilars.
Buy even during double plat I would never sell an exilar for less than 4k.
People always moaned that it was too expensive, but after all it was my cash and not theirs.

All that would happen is they would come back after a month and still buy them for 4k.

Personally, I never got anything other than 200 gold per plat ever.
If you offered me 3k I would just walk away.

And to be honest, that's why I always got the big spenders, if you come to me with 1 million gold, you will get 5k plat to spend on anything you want, no questions asked.
