Should I spend my plat on chests?

I heard of many people who bought chests and were lucky enough to get a big reward, I was wondering if I should buy chests with my plat. Lastly, should I buy a lot of maclirs chests or less spooky chests (they are more expensive)

buy spooky chests and sell them if you want gold. DONT OPEN
