I'm also intrested in knowing, is there 1,2 or a few types of gear better than Ancient Plate armor?

Thanks Oct, but is that the only better armor? Is hammered Redclaw better?

even though hammered redclaw gives a small health boost the ancient plate is still better because when your comparing the breast plates the ancient plate gives around 40 more armor
