Clan them...the Laid Back Elite!
Well, I haven't made a Clan them post since May and once again I am getting players asking me what makes us different than the other elite clans like Soli and Relent. So here is a new post for both new members and potential recruits of all levels.
Mindset: We encourage you to be who you want to be and play however you want to play. Just drop some loot in the bank from time-to-time so that all ships rise together. We have a very specific idea of what clan means which you can find at: http://clanthem4ever.wix.com/clanthem#!basics/c2q4
We are a clan, not a job. We never forget that this is a game, not a way of life. Come to Clan them to get away from real life and have fun. All the pushiness, competitiveness, and clout-seeking stuff belongs with the other elites.
Attitude: Are you in an elite clan and feel like you are surrounded by braggarts, lixerholics, and bosskillbots who never really take the time to get to know you as a player? Got shabby leadership? Not us! We don’t play the game for the same reasons as the other elite clans. We are in it to be kind, help others (especially noobs), make friends, and have a great time doing it. If you only want to constantly kill bosses and you are only focused on getting the newest armor, being in the most powerful clan, and/or being the biggest baddest (enter your class here), then those other two big elites are totally for you. Our leadership is a collective effort with the most highly regarded members elected to represent as “Heads” at the top but with a voting body of gens and guards to create a unique representative democracy (which btw, chats daily via messenger about any and all clan issues). This generates a system where the majority rules and adapts to in game changes rapidly and effectively for the good of the clan at all times. Furthermore, since being number one is not our goal, it gives us the freedom to quickly weed out any scammers, chat bombers, beggars, or big-headed high level players because we aren’t trying to play the numbers game to boost our online rankings. So what do we focus on? Being the most highly regarded, fun loving, and well-respected clan in Gwydion because that is truly elite!
Enjoyment: Yes, like any competitive clan, killing bosses, completing quests, and bettering each other is part of our day to day but it is not a job. It is all about fun. Some clans actually message each other to coordinate big boss kills and get punitive with players who are online but don’t show. Not us. Show if you want. Stand in the castle and shout instead if you like. That’s up to you. It’s your time to play, even if it means we have to pass on a boss. It’s just a game, bosses respawn. We may take a bit longer to finish a quest but we also have a tremendous sense of cohesion and camaraderie which you will not find anywhere else. Lastly, we have a commitment to never mistreating noobs, in fact we take great pride in supporting new players and encouraging the sense of joy that brought us all to this game. We even have a clan for lower level friends run by our alts (only one alt per player allowed in Clan them) that we use to help level up potential recruits to our level requirement!
