Drop policy

I realize each world has its own way of handling drops but I was wondering what the rule is on Morrigan?

What I am used to is that if you are in a group and the game decides to give you a drop it belongs to you to keep sell or throw away if you want, it's yourse. Is there some other rule here?

The reason I'm asking is, a clan member chatted that bonehead was up so I went to help. Turns out the group has a few clans involved. I don't really do damage at my level but I have a 250 light heal and a 75 bandage so I can help especially since the two druids were only doing 800 and 500. We get done and then the group goes to do rebane gem. I get one of the drops, and from that then we go to shiver. I just happen to get a sapphire and then people are trying to trade me to get me to hand over the sapphire. I don't trade and then I am being accused of stealing somebody's sapphire. So I am declaired dead weight and asked to leave the group so I do. It turns out a friend of mine was in the group who gave me a very nice gift earlier so I gave the sapphire to him as a thank you.

So I ask again, in a mixed group who do drops belong to?

You should keep it. A mixed group would normally be ffad(freeforalldrops) since it's not a single clan with a policy. People ask for the drop in a mixed group, they just want the gold.

If people expect you to hand over a gem drop from placeholder , those are not the people you wanna be hanging with .

Each clan has their own rules on drops and I would think it absolutely insane if any clan had a rule that all vendable loot was to be handed in , I imagine that would just be a greedy chief .

General Morrigan culture seems to be that in a truly mixed group the drops fall where they land regardless of whether it is a quest, vendor, or event item.

When the scenario is a clan group is at a quest boss and a non-clanmate asks to join, I believe that if you are accepted into the group any drop you get is yours Unless you were asked and agreed to hand drop to the clan as a requirement for being accepted into the group. I personally try to clarify that with my group/clanmates before responding to the non-clannie's group request.

Avalon rules are much similar to what Keri stated , if you ask in for a boss a few factors will determine if we let you in .

1) is the boss nearly dead ? If it's less than halfway down it's very unlikely we will let you in group .
2) we ask all members in group if they have an issue with allowing * name removed* in the group , if any members have an issue you will not be allowed in .
3) are you going to give up the drop ? It may sound greedy but if you think about it we don't need assistance for the boss and allowing you in for kill should be favor enough . ** as a disclaimer , we always ask if you will give up the drop, we don't always take the drop , often we let the person keep it unless it's an item we feel we need .

And once someone takes off with a drop they agreed to hand over, they immediately go on the list of people I will NEVER group.
