Fry your wifi?

If you play while plugged in your phone can get warm. The bit that gets warm is near the chip that controls your wifi. If your phone is one that gets really warm when playing plugged in, it might get hot enough to kill the chip.

If the chip dies, you won't be able to get wifi on your phone. In fact the wifi on/off slider button will be greyed out (no ability to turn it on Or off at all).

People have put a bunch of solutions to the wifi grey button thing - everything from pointing a hair dryer at specific spots on your phone to shoving it in the fridge. Even if these work for you if you get this issue, they will be temporary and it'll all still point to one thing - your phone's wifi is dead or dying. Go to Apple.

What I'm saying is - avoid playing plugged in, coz you are running a risk. I've killed two phones like that before I figured it (yes, both refurbs, so might not have been as robust as a new one). My original phone backlight died for a diff reason.

So just passing info on. If you play plugged in, at least with a 4 or 4S, you run the wifi fry risk.
