I don't believe anyone appreciates the true genius of SirSmokes' gameplay. Prior to OW update, he freely achieved a high level at the expense of anyone in his path in the bottle-necked Stone and he accomplished this alone. As he KSed everyone in sight, he had no care for others in the world and enjoyed the negative reactions, taunting them along the way. As someone who leveled solo to 75, I appreciated his freedom and carefree attitude. I joined a noob clan and did pretty well, beginning to understand and enjoy the teamwork of a clan in an MMO. At the OW update, my clan folded and it was obvious that flying solo was not going to be feasible, plus I was enjoying being part of a clan. I then joined another noob clan and have not turned back.
I imagine SirSmokes came to a similar conclusion regarding the feasibility of progressing in the OW without a clan. This is where his genius really became evident as he pulled one of the most impressive coups in the history of Rhiannon. After the major clans had labeled him an enemy and agreed on how to deal with him (how epic of a toon he is to have such attention from the clans), he convinced one of those clans to accept him. I was like, "Wtf?...How did he do that?" I was shocked and dumbfounded (not unusual for me) when I heard the news, but looking back at it now, I just have a ton of respect for his guile and powers of persuasion.
Then, time moved along, no one bitched, no one complained about SirSmokes (He deserves the 'Sir' title IMO) because he played nice and I imagine built up a ton of cred with his clan. Then, as the higher level toons bottle-necked for xp grinding at wyverns (see prior reference to bottle-necking in this post), a hint of his old ways, a trickle of his tricks, began to resurface. And so, the *** began and the complaining continued, all focused on one toon's actions (I make a distinction here, because it is in actions, not words, as irl, that the truth is told). Again, he displays his amazing cunning and convinces his clan that he is the victim, because he is being teased and taunted by the bitchers and complainers. He then threatens to make the bitchers and complainers suffer more if he is booted from his clan, thereby convincing all that it is in everyone's interest for him to stay in his clan. I am in awe of him. He is truly a living legend of Rhiannon.
SirSmokes, Arch-Villain of Rhiannon, Keeper of the Drama,
I SALUTE YOU!
Long live SirSmokes!
Xer out! (Ha! I love that SirSmokes, you are the best! Good times, Good times)
P.s.
I propose all hats off for SirSmokes this weekend in his honor.
P.s.s. please don't *** or complain about this post or I will tell my mom (aka, Admin)
