Mage build questions and looking for firestorm.

Okay I have made a fire mage, I have been using fire attune, firebolt, energy shield, and that's it. I have recently acquired ice attune, ice blast, and frost bite, would it be practical to switch to ice, or wait and hope I get firestorm? P.s. buying firestorm

Only do ice mage if you have a decent amount of energy regen (50+ lux)
Otherwise, your build is about the same as my fire mage's except I don't use energy shield..

personally i enjoy ice shard/ice blast build with small ice lure and half ice attunement, rest of points being devided in eboost and eshield.
not all like it but you can kill most 3 stars in 2 shots, if not one, and others are easily one shotted, some even without lure.
but as for your question i suggest buying firestorm and doing fire, as fire still beats ice, better casting rythm. with ice ur basicly doomed once it evades, with fire you dont have that problem so fast, due to faster recasting.
