I might trade my hero ammy for a common 80% elder staff is this a good deal or what??

I'm not sure the exact price of mounts now, because of the new event not brining new mounts, and kind of mount is quite valuable now. I saw a regular 80/10 staff sell for 300k yesterday. If uou really need the staff, go for it. If not, wait for the new engine to see if they add horses

All rares become more rare. Although the 100/50 will be the most valuable unless they add more 100% mounts. But i hope they become a bit more carefull with adding items/mounts.
