There has been a lot of chatter recently regarding the selling of drops within the clan. As usual, there are two sides of the issue. On the one hand, you have someone who needs gold to buy idols and potions - and who spend significant time and money to get drops. On the other hand, most quest items are far easier to get as we gain levels - and we should be supporting our clanmates. I would like to propose the following - these are not rules, just suggestions to be commented on:
Rarest, high value items: These are items that are in high demand, are difficult to get, and which require a fair amount of camping or luck to achieve. Examples: Dragon Frags, Elm frags (at the moment), Mind Tabs (esp slate), fairy diamonds, goblets (esp copper). I think it is ok to allow our clanmates the occasional payday when they get one of these - they should be allowed to offer such things at only slight reduction off market value without recrimination. BTW - by market value, that does not mean the exceptionally rich person who offers and absurd amount for an item. All that being said, i would hope these valuable items would stay in clan. If you think this is unreasonable, then perhaps you should spend days or weeks camping for a valuable drop (i know there is some wiseguy who will point out how they have and have given it away, but just because some people and over generous does not mean everyone can afford to be).
for warden/meteoric gear:
BP items (space): max of 20K in clan for established members. Higher for newer members.
Leg armour (air and star): max of 15K in clan
other tablets/rems: earth, water, rock, fire, metal: 1k-5k in clan (presumably 1k for something like a rock rem and 3-5k for a metal or fire).
oaks and crowns: 6-8k in clan
moons: 1k or less
suns: 1k-3k
I have no real opinion regarding crests. Orbs at 5k seems reasonable.
Remember, clans are about supporting each other - and selling inexpensively will generally pay off nicely in the end for you. Personally, i tend to give away most quest items free to long term clanmates i have worked with for a long time and with whom i group often (making them stronger costs me less idols if nothing else). For all others, i feel no guilt about charging prices indicated above - especially when someone who cannot even scratch the boss is buying. They are reasonable prices that allow members to get their armor far earlier than they would get it if they had to fully participate in boss battles.
I would like to no longer see members charging outrageous amounts. Likewise, I don't want to see members, especially lower levels who have little chance of getting these drops yet, complaining about reasonable prices just because they have not managed to save 5k.
As mentioned elsewhere - there is a difference between long term, loyal, established members (most of whom are quite high level), and relatively new members, or those who bounce from clan to clan. Prices for established members (especially from established members) should be on the lower side.
Again, your comments are welcome. The numbers i chose above are examples - but i am open to adjusting them. Also, i recognize that reasonable numbers now may not be reasonable a month from now as the game changes and some things become common while others become more rare.
one last observation - you can often make more money/time by selling a lot at low prices as opposed to trying to maximize the profit on any single item.
thanks
