Thoros aggy drops idea

#1
Ok so the big issue is some people get alot more drops then others?? So i have had a thought on this. How about we stick with class based drops but. We equip the players with out braces and lets rings. What i mean say 2 warriors are at aggy and a warrior brace drops. Warrior1 already has aggy brace where warrior2 doesnt. So lets make where warrior1 doesnt dice which means the other warriors without said brace has more of a chance at being equipped. What im saying if its classes based and dice them that way. If non classes all can dice. This in a sense would help equip all. Just my thought about this. Now lets say that there is 4 rogues at aggy and all have aggy rings and braces classed based they can all dice for the class based drop. So plz let me know what u think. And plz plz plz dont turn this into a hate topic. I just wanna know how everybody feels about this idea.

Actually as long is everybody is honest it would work fine. Really nobody is excluded because u can still dice for non class. Just helps people get equipped faster with class based items that will help.

While I think this is a reasonable proposal,I don't think it is a good idea. Let me explain (I have been thinking on this a lot the last few days).

This is a game. Unlike many games, the object is not to win. The goal is steady improvement of your character.

This is also a social game, which means concepts of ethics, morals, fair play, and character enter into the mix.

Finally, we should distinguish between reasonable ambition and greed (negative). We play to advance our characters and become more powerful. This may mean quest drops, magic items, gold, etc. like anything, this can be taken too far - greed. This starts to occur when your ambition to advance interferes with good conduct (ethics, morals, fair play, character, etc).

It is not unreasonable to go to a boss fight with the hope of getting a drop. This is how the game is designed.

So, why do I not like this suggestion? First, bracelets are great, best drops, and can be traded. I am fully aggy outfitted, but I still go to battles for the chance at more loot. Why should I spend my money (idols) and time knowing that I am not allowed certain drops? Perhaps I spend too much time playing, that is why I got into so many early aggy fights and racked up so many drops - but that was my choice and I don't think I should be penalized for it.

Perhaps you think, why do I need another aggy brace if I have 2? Well, most of us have more than four rings, why? So we can swap them out as needed. Having options is good. Or maybe I can trade it for a different item I can use.

I like class based drops because drops go where they are needed. But like most concepts, there is a point at which the concept is no longer good. You could reasonably argue, that your idea is just classed based dicing with extra efficiency. But I think your idea crosses over the line to a level of mandated egalitarianism which I think is too far. It is the type of policy a clan might enforce, but I don't think it proper for inter clan cooperation.

Some might say, I'm a ranger so of course I like the class based. I'm too greedy. I will point out the following: Akbar is pretty fully equipped - he wears 2 bracelets and 4 rings. Xyn, on the other hand, is becoming a pretty badass Mage, but has no aggy drops. I also have a decent level rogue. At this point,I would benefit far more from random dicing so I could outfit them. But I still like class based and I am working hard to get xyn to 140 so she can join aggy fights.

So, as I said, it is a good proposal, but I do not like it personally. That being said, if the lugh general consensus was that this is the way to go, I would follow suit without complaint.

Thank you for proposing this. Good ideas generate good discussion and help keep lugh a nice place to play.

Hey Thoro!

I like this idea but on the other hand I don't like this idea.
Let's use the warrior 1 and 2 example.

A warrior braclet drops. Warrior 1 dosnt have a braclet yet but warrior 2 does.
So warrior 2 can't dice for it and obviously warrior 1 gets it.

But there are many different warrior braclets.

What if warrior 2 wanted the braclet that had just been dropped, lets say it added +5 pummel but he can't dice because he already has a braclet, let's say a horrible +5 frenzy braclet. Would that be fair? What if a warrior that already had a warrior braclet only helped with aggy so he could possibly get another braclet. Then after the fight he finds out he cannot win the braclet which would mean he gets really angry and helped for no reason.

This idea of yours thoro could create friendships or possibly end them.
Just my opinion since I don't know much about aggy fights (only been in 1)

The point of this is so not one person can gain lets say 10 aggy braces. While there are 9 others waiting for a brace. Say with rangers artio, akbar, lost, and wytt lets say akbar, lost, and wytt have 3 braces and artio has none. This is gonna discourage him in the long run. Now if one day all 4 are in a aggy fight and a ranger brace drops and a rager ring. The ranger without brace should get it and rest dice for ring. Now this takes care of the all the rangers not having a brace. My thought was to do this until all have a class based drop weather it be a ring or a brace. Once all are equipped then all can go back to dicing normally. All can say hey i have a brace or a aggy ring that is classed based. There is almost always a dmg ring or non class item for people to dice for. So yes everybody still get a shot at a drop. It is just a thought maybe people will like it idk.
