Summary 2.0

Let me start with the positives.

Great great great first half of the fight!!! It went very well. We succeeded again and had Lady Luck on our side.

Mage Group: Great job again.

I saw different people calling out commands which were helpful and it shows that more people learned the strategy.

There is still room for improvement. These are some of the things i noticed.

Group 6 was either confused, didnt do their job, or wasn't even necessary. The trolls and wyrms got to the Druids more than once.

The fight should be locked earlier. Once the groups are set in the pit the fight should be locked. It's not fair at all that so many people acquire items and alt their skills for the fight if others can just show up and say 'group me'.

Priestess: Again... I'm not sure exactly why Akbar didnt get to pull her. If she just didnt follow or if there was interference. Also, DO NOT TOUCH HER ON RESPAWN!!! Beware of AOE attacks near her. Any touching cancels out the freeze spell.

Sentinels respawn: at halfway when they respawned again, it didnt seem like everyone ran over to kill them. It makes the fight easier if they die faster.

Callator: He lagged out unfortunately. This may be cause to designate a 2nd tank. Just incase technology fails the players. Got a bit scary for a second and was near impossible to stop everyone from attacking to let him get aggro back n pull her.

Entangle: Maybe i didnt see it? I didnt notice anyone cast entangle on mordris. I believe this slows attacks by 30%? Seems very useful. If it wasn't used, its my fault for not checking at the pit. If it was, i apologize for not seeing it.

Noobs/Low levels: If any of you read this, please stay away from Mordris! Other than that... Idk what else to say.

Dicing/Items: Im not getting into it with this topic.

Overall, we had quite a few new people join and added 2 extra groups which created a little more of a challenge to get everything right. We won. Bottom line. But we can do so much better. We saw it in the first half of the fight. Good job everyone and grats to all who won drops.

Until next time...

Feedback Update:

Ranger Group1 - Entangle
Fight is locked at Pit
185+ is really stressed for Melee
Probably stay at 5 Groups
Backup Tank was there and set
EVERYONE kills Priestess and Sentinels. Speed helps!
DO NOT position under or in front of Mordris
Once again not starting drop debate on this topic.

Thanks vir for being the general and for turning up we all know last couple days has been very busy and tiring for you and the family. Yes the fight went very well noticed priestess didnt go at first on couple attempts to pull her but did in the end, after she died i would of pulled mord after my buffs but noticed ppl running to close to mord and causing mord to attack them so this caused mord to move perhaps run bit further out so not to aggro mord. Also noticed couple in front of me when tanking and under mord plz do not postion yourself here but at her rear. Sorry for lagging out was at work on 3G but managed to get back on quite quick,my designated back up tank is callu if this happens he will pick mord up. But again so many there but still not a lot of dps this is why we really need ppl at 185+ and maybe just stick with 5 grps? On the dicing side of things i will still maintain on 190 drops that 188+ to roll for these is the fair and best way to go and i agree with vir fight is locked at snorri pit and the 5 grps have been set.

Thank you vir for your taking the lead, even with all that is going on in your life at this time.
Yes, the fight went very well, Thank-you all for your valiant efforts.
First sentinel went down quick (15 sec) second sent same, second set a tad longer 45 sec total.
The pulling of priestess as has been practiced is to have ranger pull to a designated warrior standing where she needs to end up at, that warrior taunts/locks and all attack her. She took about 2min 15 sec to kill, too long as I saw some not attacking her.
Ranger responsible for entangling Mordris should be in Group 1, I took the lead in that group and that is on me. Whoever takes lead in group 1 I will remind to have ranger cast entangle.
Mordy pulled fine and druids kept tank at over half health for most all of the battle. We had Plenty of druid support, we may want to add a druid to each group to help with heals on that grp, or at least the back-up tank group.
Callumallen did a great job as back up tank, picked up Mordris and released when Callator relogged. (this is built into base 4 grp plan)
Ranger assigned to pull Priestess upon respawn. Maybe just get used to Plan and sequence of events for this.
When Mordy got by the Priestess ppl were asked to stop attacking her so Callator can pull back to the corner, that did not happen and as a result, either Modris AOE or a warrior AOE (sweeping blow possibly), hit priestess and broke freeze on her. The mages once again were able to overcome and keep her contained.
We had a lot of ppl in this battle, yet it took longer to kill this time.
All groups need to be MAXIMIZED for effectiveness, a ranger in DPS group casting sharpen weapons may be required.
Unfortunatly, not all read the forums and are aware of changes to plan or procedure.
This battle and time to kill, just makes me more convinced that DPS MUST be 185+ and the build must be a Damage build.
Adds got through to druids, could have been real bad.
Not all DPS attacked Sents upon respawn, This HAS to happen ppl, you staying on Mordris instead of killing adds hurts the team.
If mordy breaks loose again, DO NOT ATTACK HER! STOP! group 1 needs to get her back in position. Again, attacking her HURTS the team.
Mordris raged close to the priestess, had she been able to get off a heal (10k heal) we would be in for a much longer fight. Again, Mages saved the battle.
Our success has been on forums, and as such many who have not killed her are excited and wanted to see how to do it. We had many spectators for this battle, it was also recorded for posting on Utube. If I find it I will post link.
Many of you went out and leveled. THANK YOU. We need higher level DPS to continue killing her.

We need to separate mordy and priestess like a boxing ring. opposite corners. where the forward sent stands on second set I believe to be best spot for her to be killed and held. This allows mages to split the distance with ease. Mage group, pls let us know. We can run tests with mordy gone to determine best spot.

Third time CANNOT be taken for granted. We need to focus on Maximizing group damage, sequence of events, and executing assignments.

Ok first of thanks virulent for doing great job controlling the fight, we had a few problems but what was good is we overcame them and succeeded :)
Next the dicing argument :(
Ok so we had a vote and what did it tell us?
Currently there is 29 players of level 188 and above,
Compared to 52 of level 180-188
So back to the vote 10-7 I believe, we'll as we all no some don't visit the forum and as a percentage I believe the 188 vote should win .end of rant

I think we need to stick to 5 grps, period. Those are the ppl who dice. That is 40 ppl.

I tried pulling priestess a couple times, but it failed. First time i ran too far and she reset before being taunted. On respawn, she was frozen before i could try and pull her

Grp 5, do adds

Grp 2, my grp, we should try to stand close together, then my sharpen wep is more effective. As it is, i dont want to spend too much time buffing rather than dps, esp since i have offhand.

Overall, went very well

A few points from a ranger's perspective.

Entangle:
I was the ranger in the first (tank) group during the first Mordris fight. Idk who served in this capacity in the second battle. As I pointed out in the postmortem of the first Mordris encounter, entangle only hit 20% of the time. If you are serious about keeping entangle on Mordris, you will need multiple rangers casting.

Sententials:
I was shouting sentential locations as I spotted them. I know this wasn't my assigned role but we were moving too slowly in my opinion. I would attack the sentinel and shout the location. Help usually arrived before I died so we were able to keep the sents away from the casters. Since rangers are attacking from a range (go figure :D ) they will be in a good position to spot sents. It may be a good idea to assign spotter duty to a couple of rangers as backup. Again, the sequence would be attack first shout second.

Adds:
I think we still had a few adds get through to the casters. I picked off a few adds but our adds group needs to focus on this task. This will allow the DPS groups to focus on Mordris.

Priestess:
I was amazed at how well we did after the priestess camped out under Mordris. Ideally of course we would keep her away from Mordris but if this happens again DO NOT use AoE on Mordris or you will negate freeze. I saw Stinging Swarm unfreeze her a couple of times but after a few ppl shouted "No AoE on Mordris" we were back on track.

I'll just speak from the mage perspective.

Ak tried to pull the priestess, but we froze too soon. I think we were all a little on edge and didn't want her healing Mordy. I know I was. I think we can take a deep breath and let the ranger do his/her job next time. She needs to be further away because if we miss freezing her, she runs fast back to her dragon and we get into the situation we had this time with them standing on the same spot. To be honest, I can't recall how we lost her. Does anyone else?

I saw several DOT hits on the priestess which caused the biggest problems, including swarm and incinerate (probably a mount hit, since none of the mages are doing anything except freezing her). There may also have been some auto-attacks because she AOEs. Mage group knows not to have auto on, but the Mordy dps would likely keep it. So if she's further away to begin with we can hopefully catch her before she stands under her protecting dragon and we run the risk of hitting her accidentally.

Even so, it would have been fine. We lost her when calla logged off I think. Mordris ran on top of her.
