thanks ging for that insight. I have definitely noticed a difference between new high level players and old high level players. the newly addicted player can level a toon to 150 plus in a couple months (some even quicker) - especially if they have any vacation time. When leveling my druid alt, one thing that i noticed is that these level 120, 130, 140, 150+ characters barely know how to play their class! They run into a room and start hacking or throwing fireballs or whatever. God forbid a warrior would use taunt or warcry to get mobs off the druid! or anyone would put points into health when they can go all str and high dps. it is almost comical. Not to mention, leveling quickly means your resistances are much lower (i have noticed my druid has much lower resistance than my ranger). and god forbid i try to tell them how to play more effectivly (and for the record, it was a rogue who taught me how to use my ranger well back in update 2).
so, as ginger says, just recruiting someone who is level crazy by offering them more shortcuts to wont make for better and stronger clans. it just means more people who click auto and who have not spent the time camping or learning how to play really well.
dont get me wrong, Ancients has a very nice clan bank. And member who contribute to the clan (loyalty, giving to bank, helping others) will get some nice stuff.
But, every clan has their own culture and way of doing things. Those of use who have been around a long time have seen many clans get powerful then fall apart.
I think it would be nice to remember that we created our DragonLord accord to help outfit our best and strongest players. Maybe clans that have a large store of DL stuff in their banks should look at some of the long term players who are 185+ and do not have DL yet and consider them - since it is our multi clan accord that has helped to build up these reserves. This does not mean i think all clans are hoarding or are not generous. I know many are - many have given me stuff (and i have given stuff to other clans) - but some may not be.
as for the alt thing - this is just rehashing stuff that was settled long ago. It takes time and effort to level an alt, just like anything else. and if they can participate in a fight, then so be it. regardless of the number of toons, they still only get one drop. and tho the player may have a higher chance of getting a drop, that player also contributed more to the battle.
as for not leveling, that is their choice. we set min requirements so that people will contribute to the battle. also, quite frankly, i have known a lot of mains who do not level much or quickly, so...
good talk
