Re: Time to sell DL?

I like trying to fix prices. While quite a few people can afford to buy 1 great item trying to buy 8 would be insane. I'm sure at first, some ppl can afford to pay ALOT and would get their crowns first. But I would hope that they would become more common. I keep hearing a mil per crown and I'll tell you all that nothing in this game is worth 8 mil gold. Whether the items are more common or ppl just cant afford them, the prices would have to come down eventually.

Honestly i personally think selling DL items is not a necessary action that should be made.
Quite simply, for those that are currently hoarding drops, whether it be in their own bags, or in their clan, if those drops were to be dispersed and handed out to those in need then there would be far less worry about obtaining peoples armor sets (I understand that due to the shortage of crowns it would not work for weapons and offhands).
There is no benefit at all to hoarding drops, so I honestly dont understand why people do it. You don't gain anything from it, so why do it? If you claim you are holding it for a clannie, why not just pass it onto them? Or if you just want to keep your drops within your clan, what is the benefit of that also if no one within your clan currently requires that drop?
I just think if people weren't so petty, and truly wanted to help others as they 'claim' they do, then there would be no trouble at all. (then again I may have too much faith in people)
I suggest that all those willing to help create a thread and post what drops they have that they currently do not need and are willing to part with, whether it be from their clans hoard, or their own backpack.
So overall -1 to selling dl, just be patient and you'll have your weapons eventually.

again i dont really want to sell, but if fixing a red/purple crown price at 100k (and other things at proportionally lower prices) would get them out of inventory, that might be a good thing. I dont know the answer.

some players are already naturally more friendly and then more likely to give a dl item to some individuals who sell stuff at nice prices.. some players sell at nice prices to players they know may obtain extra dl items to offer

if we set prices on dl items, I would expect that we will see more playing with prices on other items - to encourage the sale of dl to a particular player over someone who cannot offer discounts on other stuff

also if we set prices before the update, we may have a hard time resurrecting this no-sale concept for the updates armor quest..

I could however imagine players agreeing to make dl items open for sale at any price once the new update is released and only the updated quest is made no-sale.

Or i could imagine the update coming and a majority feeling like they want to keep quest stuff no-sale, both for dl items and going forward with update items

just some ideas from my mushy brain to yours :-)

Thanks Ginger for your thoughts. Always great to hear from you. After careful thought, and reading the comments, I believe I have changed my mind on the selling of dl items. I believe that these rules were set up to ensure high level players were equipped to fight end game bosses. Which is good if you subscribe to that theory. After high levels were equipped, then lower levels would begin to obtain their pieces. If this is the case, why not start handing them out of banks and bags to the players now of the correct level? It has been stated previously that high levels have no motivation to continue these types of fights. Whats the point, there equipped. That is the flaw of the system, in my eyes. If everyone is treated equal at the start, then motivation continues to complete the quest. I for one, found a yellow horn, and found someone to give it to. I also have a green egg if anyone needs. I say no selling, rather start giving dl items to all current players that have met level requirements.

Just my two cents - without having read all the previous discussion.

As you know I'm still new back and it looks as if I'll start to play again. But will allowing selling solve the problem?

I will always have the best thoughts about people and their willingness to help each other and the community. So with that in mind; Are there really people with that bad character that they horde DL items in the hope of being able to sell them?

If we allow the sales of DL items, should we state that the items must be sold by a main character rather than by a lvl 1 alt? This will bring clarity on who has been hording.

So uh

Are we leaning more towards selling DL or just continuing on not able to sell it?
