Along those same lines I would suggest that mages and druids should be allowed to dice for hrung braces that have armor, defense, energy bonuses and melee classes be allowed to dice on damage and attack braces. Casters have a significantly less amount of armor than the other 3 classes, and armor and defense are less effective per point as the amount of armor and defense increases. So, just as damage rings are much more effective on melee characters armor and defense bonuses are much more effective on casters. I would also point out that mordris helms would be a similar discussion. I think these helms can add a variety of stats or elemetal or poison damage with bonuses to health, energy, attack, defense and evasions. My viewpoint on this issue, is that aggy should stay the same. But id be fine if warrior ranger rouge diced for damage rings on Hrungnir. If mages and druids only diced for armor rings because mages and druids have the least armor of the classes.
It looks like we have several options.
1.We can let nonclass items like rings, helms and braces be diced by all (possibly with the exception of braces because they have a class specific ability).
2. We can restrict them in some way to fit what we feel are the classes best suited to use them. (possibly limiting items adding dex/str/dmg/attack to melee and items adding armor/def/foc/vit to casters) but tank warriors definitely would resent a system like this because they tend to like armor/def/vit bonuses.
I think our best option is to dice all nonclass helms and rings by all classes and dice hrung braces by the ability on the brace. (our current system)
