Re: Necro Battle plan

Here is how a big clan from another server handles necro. Notice where the tank stands and where the rest go during lifesteal. We should probably do the same.
Hey that's me in white hunter fashion. Today we killed our 33rd necro with the smallest number of 37 players. Killed in 19 min 39 sec. Our record kill time was two necros ago at 14 min 30 sec with about 50 players. Good luck. Hope your server can kill it soon.

Why are we not treating this like the first Mordy attempts? What I mean by that, is for the first Mordy attempt, there was a "rough" roster already made as to who was going to be in the battle. Some people are still treating this boss like every other boss that goes down with brute force...

Necro is not going to go down just because we want him to go down...We will only defeat him with people that not WANT to take him down, but KNOW how to take him down.
We as a server along with clan leaders basically appointed what were determined to be the best players at their class and who understood the plan. Not to offend anyone but so we could see what the plan would look like in action. Once we actually did Mordris we tried to pick those best players again and filled in the rest with what we could. We then went over the entire process at Snorri pit and made sure every single player in every group understood what their role was and how to do it. For a while Mordris was kind of exclusive to most of the people involved but as you can see now, it has become common knowledge.

With a boss such as this that requires not only a good strategy but proper execution, we cant afford to have players who dont understand or wont execute.

My suggestion would be to attempt to fill all minimum required spots with the best fitting players and then see what we have left to fill. Once again i will say it is NOT meant to offend people. For whatever reason if you arent selected as best 'class' dont argue n whine. Its an overall perception not just 1 person or clan deciding not to pick you. Thanks.

+1 vir

As far as the server goes, we have more than enough qualified people to beat him, just need to collaborate a time and date that's accommodating to most. Having at least 2 of the 3 rogues with DL offhand would be key imo. (I believe there is only 3?)

Boom, I was honestly about to say something similar after reading boot's post. I definitely agree that it has to be done like this.

I Definitely agree with vult and vir. The problem we run into when we try to organize a roster is participation. What I mean by that is that we often have ppl who cannot show up at the time designated. I definatily think that some people need to discuss this and come up with a roster just as we did for mordy.

I also think there should be an appointed BattleMaster. The person who is responsible for making sure the groups are filled and ready. They will also outline the fight and guide everyone through it. It worked well when we did it for the few Mordris fights.

Sounds right. I would personally nominate either vir, RR or AK since they have prior experience...I assume there is no one that would argue any of those people if one of them are willing? If it happens to be AK or RR as BattleMaster, maybe the other or Angus should be the leader of the Ranger group?

The key is repetition. Get all your members familiar with the encounter and what needs to be done when things go awry. It took us 8 attempts to perfect our strategy and we are a small and very organized clan. I reckon its going to be harder for a mutli clan server effort with varying raid members each time. But keep at it, as the cliche goes, practice makes perfect.

We havent had as many kills as Arawn, its hard for us to get 30 players together, but there was that one day when we had a good turnout with about 45 toons and killed him in 13:40. Our last few fights have been in the 14-16min range, pretty nice to do it with one haste lix as his drops are really clairvoyant but the accomplishment of killing him is a good feeling indeed.
