-1 to roundtable as introduced, although I would support a roundtable group of most consistent/oldest players meeting in game, making proposals that are then voted on in forums, referendum style, 50+1

+1 venus promoting and encouraging more people to get on forums and vote. Noob or not I feel everyone should have a chance to participate. Clans can promote members to get on forums and vote topic announcements can easily be shouted in game.

The forums are what they are, the posts and replies speak for themselves really. Take a look at the last few things put up for vote or discussion. They are recycled replies of the same people posting on the same topics or votes. I.E. voting on Class categorizations of new event drops, New Mordy times, trying to organize Necro time and date, Vote on exact lock time for 200 Boss, and a few recent others that I cannot think of at this time...Not one of these matters ever came to a final conclusion because of the few that reply or even read the posts.

Anyway...again, I'm not suggesting going with Ade's proposal, but IMO there does seem to be a need for some sort of change if this server is to stay true to being an open/free server. Its evident that the forums are not getting the job done as the lack of forum participation serves now....This world is much, much, much bigger than it was pre updates. What once worked well on the forums obviously does not still work. Therefore, instead of certain people bashing on Ade, how about focus some of that negative energy into positive energy and create suggestions for a solution? :)

Forums is a great place to vote though. The 200 lock vote worked out well, we lock at the first star now. We must do our voting on the forum and not in game though. This way its a chance for all to vote, if you ask a group of people what they want, thats not everyone. The forum, anyone could go to and see rules, voting, and such, and if your not online when the vote takes place, you don't get a vote, or even know something has changed. We cant just suprise people with new rules, that we dont even know if they were voted on, here at the forums we can see our fellow players votes, and suggestions to make our world even better.
World - Lugh
Furyion - 192 Ice Mage
Stonelord - 100 PvP Warrior
Lavalord - 60 PvP Warrior
Keepin' it old school.

-1 to committees

I think our server does a pretty good job of discussing policy and casting votes on the forum. Another reason to use the forum is transparency. Anyone can log onto the forum to count votes and read everyone's position on a given topic.

Where is the official vote count on that? Because I don't see one. It seemed like a good mix of percentage, 3-5min in, and first star to me. I agree with what RR and you are saying Fury, about the boards being a good place to go to for votes and letting everyone have their say, but its quite obvious that its not being utilized by enough people of Lugh to make any decisions anymore. Case in point the 200 lock voting issue, I counted only 15 different people putting in their 2 cents on the issue...who's the person to declare that vote done and over with?

All of the issues that I made examples of in my previous post are all a mirage of involvement. Each of those topics have multiple pages of replies, but are all repeat users.

FYI, I don't want anyone to perceive this as me arguing, pushing for another type of systematic voting, or anything of the sort. What I am saying is simply the plain and obvious truth about the forums and the way they are/are not being used atm.

Well, the 15 or so people casting votes on the lock issue is still more involvement that the proposed 5-12 people in the OP. Forum accounts are very easy to set up are are free. Anyone interested in having their voice heard should invest 2-3 minutes and set up an account.

The main reasons that I support discussing issues on the forum pages are transparency and diversity. There is a public record (transparency) and anyone can voice their opinion (diversity).

I am not disagreeing with the usefulness of the forums. However, for whatever the reasons may be, they are not being utilized nearly as much as they need to be to allow any confirmations of votes.

So....is Ade's proposal the right solution?..probably not. But, IMO it sure beats crossing our fingers hoping for more people to participate on the forums :D while nothing ever gets voted and passed again. Everyone has their Auto-Attack button on when it comes to Ade's posts and suggestions. So far she is the only that I've seen come up with any solution whatsoever...waiting and hoping others join or rejoin the forums is not a solution IMO. Maybe my faith in others to join is just too low?...idk :|
