an interesting question on Dragonlord dicing policies

#1
so, an interesting question came to be the other day about our dicing. All our basic rules were good, but here is the situation:

is one player (call him dave) is helping another player (call him Jim) get his armour (i.e. dave gives jim his dragonlord drops) - what happens when jim is full dragonlord? Jim would like to try to repay dave, but by our rules, is not supposed to roll for drops that are not needed.

my initial thought is that, in that scenario, we allow the dicing on the honor system so people can repay others. Once repaid, then the person would be subject to the rules as normal.

thoughts?

What would be the problem with it? It's not like the drops are disappearing.. It's just fully gearing each person faster if you help eachother out so I think this is great, as long as the guy who has the full set isn't doing it for profit but rather to pay back or help out clanmates or friends.

I have to agree with this if your friend decided to help you with drops to get you geared up so it would help others with boss fights etc. Then that said person should be allowed to still dice for items to repay their friend / clan mate back . What harm would this do? No harm because if they help each other to gear up it helps them and others in boss fights . At the end of the day we are all after the same goal and if it means helping each other out with drops then im all for it:) (callator) :)

Once a person wins the drop it is thiers, to do with as they please. If they give to another, great, we all benefit from outfitting people with better armour, it does us no good to have a person who is 15 levels away from getting quest to be sitting on those quest items (imho). As Callu stated, we are a small community, I think that they should be allowed to roll. Speaking from the Druid angle, you all want us to have better armour, no, you need us to have better armour. There are many honourable people playing, we know who they are and who are not. I understand other classes have many more players like warrior/rogue, and the problem with repaying becomes greater, and we need to discuss and get a consensus. Please more people post your opinion.

Randall,

To clarify, yes once a person has a drop, they do what they want. However, by current rule, u ont dice for drops u don't need.

I think we need to be able to pay ppl back, but once paid back, stop dicing.

I think some of us discussed this issue in-game and have most of it solved. Like you said, 'honor' system. We know who is who. :) And Randall's point of view is that hes been lower level and while he technically needs items he has won he doesnt need them at the current moment. Therefore, he has given them to people who can use NOW. Better for us to gear high level druid NOW then have someone hold items until they can use later.
