How do you pronounce it? I personally pronounce it "Loo" like in flu. Just curious about how others think it is.

I pronounce it as I would in my local language, Norwegian.
The L sits in the back of the mouth, as in a British English pronunciation of "light"
The u is like your "loo" as you mention, but short, and abruptly stopped by
The g is like the first g in "gang"
The h is silent

That'll teach you to ask questions;-)

I have wondered this, too. :D

I pronounce Lugh "loo" just as I would pronounce the given name Hugh.

I think Akbar pronounces it differently, but my version is crowding out his in my head right now.

It is pronounced Loo.

The modern day Co Louth in Ireland is named after the same pagan God. In the Irish language it's name is Contae LĂș ... The line over the u is a long stress (sinte fada) which makes it a loo sound. Check Wikipedia for more info.

I'm originally from this county in case you haven't guessed. It is the reason (of course) I joined this server.

Actually, you may wanna read this: http://www.mythome.org/celticnames.html

It is all about Celtic names and their pronunciation and of course Lugh is included too. According to the document Lugh is pronounced LOO as in LOOP.
