A fun little calculation

#1
a quick DPS formula is: (dmg X attack) / wepSpeed
note: for wep speed i am not including haste or gloves, so if you want to compare, you shouldn't either.

so my buffed DPS (normal equipment, not maxed out) is: (3037 x 3100) / 2860 = 3,292 (rounded)
my unbuffed DPS is: ( (2256 x 2665) / 2860 = 2,102

What is your DPS?

obviously there are a number of other factors in dps against a particular mob. for example, the above does not take into account your skill dmg, just auto. also, the above calculation includes divine dmg - which is not applicable to regular (non-chaos mobs). Finally, i was only using my normal equipment, not the equipment i use if i need to max my auto (like when i am on super combo, i take off the haste ring and put on a dmg ring). and as i said, i am not including haste effects (since there is some ambiguity on how the speed is adjusted).

enjoy.

What kind of buff adds 800 damage?
If this is correct my (1758x3823)/2409= 2790 dps?
Feel like this definitely isn't true.. How can I do 2790 damage every second if my damage is 1758 and it would take 2.4 seconds to dish that out?

Okay a couple things. You cannot multiply through attack like that. Without the formula CH uses it is impossible to tell how often you will hit.
Another, you would need to divide by 2.86, not 2860. 2860 would mean 2860 seconds.
And same as Vulture asked, what exactly is boosting 800-some damage?
I get that 100 can be from ring, then some from steady aim/sharp weps, but what's the rest? Does DL offhand boost that much? (If you even have it, I don't know)

ok, you are misunderstanding the intent.

this is a way to measure relative dps - i apologize for not making it clear. Not a way to figure out how much dmg you actually do.

this would allow you to compare different characters or different builds.

basically dps is proportional to dmg and attack (how often you hit) and inversely proportional to your weapon speed. Actually calculating your actual dmg is a different matter entirely - but this will easily let you see if you might be more effective with a frozen weapon vs an ymir weapon.

as to the 600 dmg buff - that is from the DL quiver, plus a lot of dmg from 45pt in steady aim.

Dang! From the subject title I thought you might have come up with a probability formula for how likely it is that the boggan 165 5* boss will drop another bleeding gem!
Lugh - clan Ancients
Derken - Warrior (general)
Pointy - Rogue
Glob - Ranger
IsleOfLamp - Mage
Herculager - Warrior
