My job irl is talent management for $1B+ companies ... but that experience level is not required to see a problem develops: A few clans now collect dragonlord items that they do not need, but that they use to recruit new members. Problem is, by offering shortcuts, we attract and reward players compelled by these shortcuts ... more than by character development.
1. By attracting such players, every year a fast-expanding clan implodes (as have many companies' departments and divisions irl). No secret here, you are inherently undermining a clan you hope to grow.
2. By rewarding that type of player with quick armor, we see a statistical majority have stopped leveling up and have stopped developing fight and teamwork skills from such experience. (This could never be true of all, but clearly is true of many. Also this is not the inherent fault of such players, but a natural consequence of this reward system.) Clan leaders, remember how you developed through hard leveling.. And consider what you are now inviting into your clan culturally.
3. Bottom line and more important to Lugh, we do not only destabilize our interclan cooperation, we also deprive ourselves of high-level high-character teammates, who we desperately WANT to help kill Necro ... early and often!
Excellent that we embraced 188-levels to dice for Mordris 190 items. Good motivation
