Mordy/Boss Mob Participation

Hello Lugh! Recently some players are getting increasingly frustrated with the participation, (or lack thereof), by certain players. Currently the Lugh rules are very flexible. If you meet a simple level requirement, you can join in on any boss and roll regardless of activity during the boss. I want to get a dialogue going to solve our concerns before it becomes a major issue. I think the goal should not be to exclude players, but rather to understand where each other is coming from and work together for a common goal. I have personally seen many players taking advantage of our rules. I have tried to take it to those players in private, but I cannot make any progress. I have heard several suggestions such as no dual device, (although druid group would be nearly impossible), haste lix req, but I am not sure if a viable solution has been found. Lugh is a great community because of our inclusion of everyone. When we start doing Necro again, it will take full participation by all. It may be better to address our issue now, before we are failing and wasting plat over a select few. Please everyone try to refrain from any personal attacks, don't make Voldemort work. Lets do our best to have a constructive discussion and find the best solution, if there can be one.

Late into Fight / AFK-Robot Mode / DM role

Following my repply in toy summary of dicing rules and in order to prevent all the poetic dramas of players arriving late into fights... we could imagine enlarging the DM role as also a judge ruling about players behaviours during a fights :

We choose one DM beforehand.

1 - Firtsly, this DM will be in charge to check lock, and check out players arrival times. His word is the law. Like in real life, where a judge can make mistake, the DM may make mistake but and players will have to stomach them and respect the DM voice.

2 - Moreover, the DM will also be in charge to identify the robots, the cheaters, the players bringing matching rec acc into fight without really using them just to get an opportunity of dicing or the players with only one acc but in robot-afkying mode left to toilet, to sleep or whatever during a boss fight.

Cheaters will be baned on their one or severall acc on the dicing by the DM. Once again, the DM ruling will be law, and if the DM makes a mistake then, bad luck for you, try to move better your ass into the next fight.

What is sure when I will be DM, any cheaters will be out, even one of my friends or clansmates.

I think only like that, judging at the moment of the fight, and solving problems during or just after the fights, we will spare our server furthermore poetic dramas posting on the forum.

I understand that dm's mistakes shouldn't be taken as law as he says, but the ideas he put out are good.

I like the idea of a dm booting afkers. People not attacking sents or trolls could be an easy boot.

I also think there should be more coordination/requirements between classes.

Mages are required to have 37 freeze. We also coordinate who is going to use each lure etc. Rest of the classes can basically do whatever they want.

It seems like warriors should be required to have 37 taunt 37 bash and at least try to tank the adds. It sucks when these adds wipe out the rogues and mages doing big damage but the warriors remain untouched doing their 'damage' while never getting agro.

Expose weakness on a couple rogues should be required, as well. Its pretty silly having all these dps'ers at fight w no expose weakness sometimes. Smoke Bomb should probably be required on a couple rogues, too.

Entangle on at least one ranger should also be required, while I'm at it.

Maybe the rogues and rangers could dice before fight to see who has to alt.

Hmm thats all i can think of for now :) a haste lix requirement may be a good idea too.

50 taunt or it's useless against good rogues

We've tried Entangled before....it hits about 1 in ohhhhh...about 5 attempts maybe. Not sure on exact time it lasts, probably 30 sec? and has a cd time of a min i believe? So unless there is a shortage of druids at Mordy, it will never be needed. And as for the Sents, its their skill hits that are the only issue, their attack speed slowing down a bit isn't the issue...same goes for the trolls.

Entangled is up there with def spikes as far as most worthless skills the game has to offer

I think the phrase "Micromanagement is mismanagement" is apt here.

Coordination is fine, but leave it to the people who play a given class to make decisions about which skills to use. Group leaders can then decide who is responsible for each skill (eg Sharpen Weapons, Expose, etc.). The DPS group has been doing this since Day 1.
