Necro Battle plan

Hey all,

This is my battle plan I have compose base on some testing and tries we did.

First :
The main difficulty i could see is the life drain of the necro, the rest can be easily deal with, i mean the adds.

Fact:
Necro life steal is an attack center base on him. So far the tech to have him hold on middle of bridge was a bad idea, as so may people who don't back up on time getting life drain.
From today fight, i notice at least 5 people minimum every time, so around 10k heal for him:(

What i'm proposing:

Having callator holding him on one side of the middle part of the bridge, why ?
As i said, center base life steal on necro wont affect the other side of middle bridge where druids can stay with sometime the respawn of ghosts.
Having necro there, only half of his cast can affect people, so half way less people can get hit.

Then one group on ether side of bridge, for adds and re-spawn of ghosts.

Now a crucial part, we need a MAIN shouter !!! someone that should shout "RUN !!!" on zone channel, so it is RED for every one to see.
This person should be nominated as we start gathering or starting going in for every one to know who it is.
Only these personne will be allowed to speak on zone channel, for the rest only shouting "adds" on normal say channel.

We need at least one ranger in every group for sharpen weapon, except mages, druids groups.
At least 2 mages with high piercing and fire lure.
At least 2 rogues with high smoke bomb skill.

This is it, waiting on your comments or feedback.

Thank you for your time to read this.

Here is how a big clan from another server handles necro. Notice where the tank stands and where the rest go during lifesteal. We should probably do the same.

First :This doesn t mean it is the only tech. so far, as every one notice on our server, many people are standing or not backing up when they should. Having necro on side of bridge, for exemple with your picture, where the group is hiding from lifesteal, half of the area effect will be empty as he would be by the edge of bridge.
Second : As you could see on screen shoot, they have a huge numbers of rangers, unlike us this morning where we had a huge amount of warriors.
Every servers are different, not all the same amount of class in them. we just need to found out the best option for our server with the people we have.

Few things that may or may not be correct:
The life he regains from lifesteal is probably not equal to the damage it shows on players heads... He is losing 10k hp a second (random number off the top of my head) at least, with all the dmg being done.

He also gains a large heal when he eats one of his adds, I forget the exact wording but it's something like "sacrifices a minion" so killing/pulling them away from necro is pretty important.

I think having a person shout run is probably no better than watching for the big orange block of txt because it will be slightly delayed from the original message and easier to miss.

The lifesteal message has two parts, preparing to cast and actually casting it a few seconds later, plus a large blue ring emanating outward from him, people have to wait for the second part before running back in. Where he was standing tonight people needed to get nearly to the apex of bridge in order to get out of range, and a lot of people weren't running far enough or running back to early. Everyone needs to be on travel lix, I saw a few people who weren't using the lix and getting caught in the aoe more often than not. Druids also need to move back when he lifedrains

I think it's quite possible with the community we have once we can get everyone running properly

Why are we not treating this like the first Mordy attempts? What I mean by that, is for the first Mordy attempt, there was a "rough" roster already made as to who was going to be in the battle. Some people are still treating this boss like every other boss that goes down with brute force...

Necro is not going to go down just because we want him to go down...We will only defeat him with people that not WANT to take him down, but KNOW how to take him down.

you are right mate.

My suggestion of groups, base on the numbers of people present this morning, 40, their classes, is :

GROUPE 1
Main tank group
Callator and 5/6 druids

GROUPE 2
Add group north side
1 ranger with sharpen, 4 wars, 3 rogue

GROUPE 3
Add group south side
1 ranger with sharpen, 4 wars, 3 rogues

GROUPE 4
DPS group ranged on necro located other side of necro on middle part of the bridge
4 archers with long shoot and 4 dps mage with at least one with fire lure and another one piercing

GROUPE 5
second DPS group on ghosts mainly and necro located other side of necro on middle part of the bridge
4 mages with at least one with fire lure, another one piercing, 2 wars and 2 rogues

My suggestion is, as people reading this post they can write themselves down in one of the group.

This is why in my plan there is 2 Adds groups, one on north side and other one south, plus one in middle for ghosts
I think having a person shout run is probably no better than watching for the big orange block of txt because it will be slightly delayed from the original message and easier to miss.
From what everybody saw this morning, it started to work better as soon someone started shouting "run".
Plus i was thinking to copy a message like for exemple : " ALL RUN BACK NOW, NOW !!!', in shout will be red so we cant mistake it.

As you were noticing, necro is not only casting lifedrain, but other skills, i saw people confused this morning, backing up at the wrong skill and going back to necro during lifesteal, this is why i think a shooter will be necessary until everyone is aware when to back up on their own.

Rogues are completely useless on ghosts, no damage what so ever, so far the best skill on ghosts is rupture and dl offhand skills.

The main fault i saw was that when ghosts/acolytes got loose, the people killing them WOULDN'T run from AOE, the first step with Necro is definitely to run from AOE, the second is to keep ghosts at least busy before they get in Necro's self heal range.

I believe we had a large chance of killing, but we had some troubles organising ourselves, druids were our second problem, we had enough druids to cover our tank but ghosts behind we're a problem.

Next attempt will go smoother.

No 2 add group needed 1 will statisfy if they work good would rather get another group on necro.
