Victory Has Defeated You

#1
To the People of Retribution

We all know that you are in borrowed time. You think all of this can last? You neglect your weaknesses; you think you're the only one that could learn power through the aid of your resources? There is a fire rising. And when this fire rises... you're all going to wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

As Personal As It gets

Its been six months from now since I joined the most powerful clan in Sulis, Retribution. I was recruited by Vasili's alternate account to join Transcendent; a starting point for Retribution. At that time, I was a lonewolf type of player; but then I realized that Celtic Heroes is not meant to be played that way. I met many good people in Transcendent, their Chieftain, Generals, Guardians and other players like BloodNGlory, Moisky, Problematic, Mathias, Almahoons etc. Then I met Bandos, a player kind of similar to me. He was a born leader, he bossed me and others around even though I thought that I shouldnt listen to him since I was a more powerful player. We got along playing the game, we helped each other out. My character, Konig, reached level 80, and I begged Togarth, Tigereye, and Nitocris to recruit me. I got into Retribution, I was so happy I was with the most powerful clan.

Summer is ending, and school was coming. I had to quit the game. Since I knew Bandos very well at the time, I asked Talian to recruit him to Retribution then I gave him my Heroic Gloves of Haste before I left. One week after, I decided video games wont interfere with my school and my life that much, so I came back playing Celtic Heroes. But, I came back in a different account. I still had my Silver Amulet of Energisation on Konig and I had it transfered by Bandos to Excision. I leveled fast, easy, and in three days I was level 80 with just a cheap amulet. I wanted my Heroic Gloves of Haste back from Bandos, but I realized he wasnt going to give it back. But he was the kind of person like I am and jokes around, eventually he did gave back my gloves. Instead of losing trust in him, I trusted him more. I offered him my accounts, but I didnt ask for his.

Bandos was addicted to that Heroic Gloves of Haste, since he keeps borrowing it from me, I just offered him my account. He has two devices, I told him that he can borrow my gloves but he has to put it back in my account before he logs out. I got tired of it, because sometimes he will log off and forget to put the gloves back. I asked him for his account and he gave it to me. I know this might sound gay but we became like best friends over the game. We progressed, we helped each other to get the things we wanted and soon enough we became Guardians of the most powerful clan in Sulis! We were so happy, especially me. Retribution became more powerful as time progresses; killing Aggragoth, Ythair Sunscale, and all other bosses that made the clan stronger.

Then everything changed. We were going to kill the level 60 dragon in Lirs Reach. But there were already some people on it. We didn't care and we got in and started taking the kill from them. A level 46 mage at the time, Lydian, whispered and BEGGED me to give them a chance, to let them have fun and enjoy the last day of the Summer Event patch. But we didnt care, because we were the best and the most powerful clan in Sulis and soon to be in Celtic Heroes! Later on, we proceeded to kill the last Ythair Sunscale, everyone was there, Retribution, SulisLegends, Endurable, Transcendent, etc. And of course, we got the kill. Then I realized what Lydian said to me "Let us have fun and give us a chance!" I realized that he wasn't only speaking for himself and for his clan, but for everybody

Everyone rushes to Eastern Dock to roll for the Ythair Sunscale drops. I saw how vital these drops were to Retribution. Soon, the clan leaders had to figure out a way to give these drops fairly. The leaders created a website and at the main page, it stated "Our vision is to build a community of dedicated, unselfish, team-orientated, active, and most importantly ‘good-hearted’ players who enjoy the socialization that comes with a MMOPRG game. We have zero interest in strong players who are ill-mannered. We desire to develop a community with long lasting friendships. Our goal is not to win at all costs. We will not sacrifice our values and basic ethics under any circumstances." Then what Lydian said came back to me. I asked myself, what happened to Retribution?

Tigereye got so mad at Guppy because Guppy's Earthstone items were scammed by Xerianna. Guppy immediately got kicked after. It was his fault for getting scammed, but what happened to the words stated in the website that was meant to make Retribution? The truth was revealed to me. We always wanted to win, we are the selfish players, we became the opposite of what used to be us! I remember how Togarth always tells us that we dont sell or give anything to anyone outside of the clan because we worked hard for it. Retribution never realized that other players and clans worked hard too, we just never gave them a chance! Why do you think Wizzyman would spend all that money to keep buying elixirs for leveling up? Or RobertsRouge buying a Radiant Earthstone Breastplate for one million gold? And everytime at boss fights, they are always on Combination Elixirs, they are working hard! That is all equivalent to what we had worked for!

This once great clan was no more, it is now based on a lie. I saw how powerful we were getting, how we always had these camping for Pyrus and Halloween bosses. I had to do what was neccesary, but something I did not want to do. I scammed my best friend Bandos/iTzTheDoctor, Lexia1205, and Mathias. I gave away the things the people never had the chance to get, because of what we did to them! I gave Bandos' Aggragoth bracelet and Trident. I gave away my Earthstone necklace and Earthstone greaves which was very important to me, but I know that it was neccesary! I gave away everything! But I couldnt live with it, it affected me real bad in real life to what I did to my friends in the game because it wasnt even their fault. I had to pay them back, which I did but I didnt have enough money to repay them everything. This is the only thing I regret doing. I should have only gave away what I had.
