Welcome to our first of 2016 Community Updates!
In this monthly to bi-monthly series you will get an in depth view of some of the communities latest achievements in Dal Riata, sneak peeks of future updates going on at OTM and some of the current community discussions on the forum.
Let’s get straight into it.
The Fall Of Gelebron
But no challenge is too large for our clans.
Congratulations go to Resurgence of Arawn for being the first clan to strike down the mighty Gelebron! The Arcane Sanctum held host to 44 members of clan Resurgence who defeated him in only 20 minutes!
I caught up with forum guide Bitey to get his insight of the fight!
It was such a blessing to be able to take part in the Gelebron beta test, and be a part of the first clan to beat him. In the beta test that we did in September, I got a taste of how hard the encounter was going to be. We had some great beta testers that round, and by pulling together we were able to come up with a few strategies that we might possibly be able to beat him with. We tested Gelebron three times, and I was the raid leader on the last attempt. It was a new experience since I've never done that before, and it made me fully appreciate how hard it is. Our raid leaders make it look so easy, but in fact it is very difficult trying to coordinate 20-40 people to all do the right things.
Since the end of October we tested Gelebron many times, but didn't make progress on him until the designers made Gelebron easier. However even then, we really didn't test him after the adjustments. It took us until January 22 to finally test him again, and we were all really ecstatic to get him down to 25% health. It was the guardians getting loose that did us in on that attempt. The next day we adjusted our plan, and with 44 people we knocked it out of the park! It was thrilling right at the end to see that little sliver of life dwindle to nothing, and then see Gelebron writhe and explode. We killed him almost exactly at 20 minutes. Right after he enraged, we got in a shield bash to freeze him, and then took him down. I really have no words to describe that feeling of accomplishment and joy. I was also happy that as a clan we decided to share our experiences. It makes me glad to be able to help clans on other servers, because it completes the journey that myself and other beta testers began months ago. Congrats and good luck with all your Gelebron kills!

Here’s a taster of what you can expect.
Bounty Board
Released in Beltane 2015 one of our most popular systems gets a brand new overhaul. We’ve taken your feedback about the bounty board system and what you would like to see changed in the future. This is why we have introduced a new token system to better allow you to choose your rewards from questing in-game. There may also be new items to gain with the bounty board tokens in Ostara, keep an eye out for teaser screenshots.
Token System
Why let chance decide your fate? With the new token system you will be able to select the items you want, no more opening bags and hoping for that specific elixir. The Token System opens us up to many exciting opportunities and additions to the game! Who knows what you will be able to buy with your tokens?
Pet System
All good heroes need a sidekick. Taking your feedback on the current companions we have created an all new system that allows you to have the ability to get your own adventuring companion, even while you carry your sword. In the first series of pet releases you can gain a loyal companion that will join you on your adventures in Dal Riata. With exciting new pets to follow in future updates.
The Ostara 2016 Open Beta will be coming soon and we can’t wait to show you even more of what Spring has to offer.
