Hey thanks for the ideas - I am wondering what you think if instead of adding more classes we allowed classes to specialise in different areas with various trainers - so you could choose to take your warrior and train them to become a paladin or other types.

Would that be OK or would you prefer more classes?

I think it's ok. But can you still switch types afterwards at a specific spot?

If you are Knight-Paladin and you need to be another type that if you have done specific quests that you talk to someone and he can switch your specialization?
I would much rather have an evolution of the current classes than an adding more base classes. This would give new players a basic understanding of how each base class plays, then options on which direction to take it as they level.

Switching types is a great idea, but if you decide to go with this, please make it very difficult to change them. Perhaps an optional 4 or 5 part quest collecting ritual items (or a game store purchase for a short-cut)? I don't think class specific quests are necessary, but It is better to have players do their research before making a decision than it is to have 500 people switching class evolutions every day. The option to fix a mistake will be well received though.

Agreed, sounds awesome. I'm dying to see a necromancer or black magic class evolution for mages.

It would be cool if class evolution was more than just equipment and skill abilities. I would love to see the appearance of the character change and become much more dynamic looking. As it is now, all of the characters look as rigid as planks. Even the mobs look like they're standing around waiting for the bus. :P

How about some aggressive stances and varied idling animations? Mages could hover slightly above the ground, Rogues could crouch as if ready to strike, Druids could slowly be engulfed by plant life as they idle, and so on. You get the idea. I know it isn't necessary or enormously important but little details like this would really add a sense of dynamism and excitement to Lir's Reach.

I suggested this a while back and noone seemed to like it that much. It makes perfect sense to branch off from the classes to add depth. Something like this, for example:

Warrior
-Warlord (boost to attack and health and more physical skills)
-Noble (boost to focus and dex and ability to use certain spells)

Ranger
-Hunter (boost to dex and attack, new bow skills, and axe ability)
-Bard (boost to focus and new status altering spells)

Mage
-Warlock (boost to focus and more powerful, yet slower magic attacks)
-Priest (boost to health and added healing and status altering spells)

Rogue
-Assassin (boost to dex and attack and new steath skills)
-Killer (boost to attack and health and new defensive skills)

Druid
-Necromancer (boost to health, summon skeleton spell, and dark magic spell)
-Shaman (small boost to health and focus and best healing/boosting spells)

There should be a quest that you need to be level 100 to undertake in order to become one of these branched classes. This is assuming that these classes come after this coming update, because the dedicated players will be around lvl 95 if the highest enemy is lvl 90. After that there should be an item in the platinum shop that costs something like $10 worth of platinum to change your class again. That will prevent people from changing classes everyday, but if they do, it'll be a nice treat to the developers. There should also be another book of alteration thing in the plat shop that lets you alter your characters appearance, assuming new appearances are added because they are in high demand.
