Re: Events, or more Updated Content?

I prefer new permanent Content.

The events are fun, but if i have to chose, I'd like for events to be less frequent so they hold more novelty and excitement.

If events are contsantly introducing new vendors and quests that disappear shortly after, it gets repetitive in the long run...granted, so does lvling. :) I like the idea of introducing events WITH permanent content updates also. I understand it comes down to a matter of resources, I appreciate everything you guys (OTM) do to keep the game moving forward. For the long run, I think new permanent content will help ensure more players turn into long-term loyal players.

Regarding the number of high lvls vs lower lvls, I imagine a large number of those lower lvls are alts and inactives. I believe its the higher lvl playes that drive the progress of the game and ultimately play and contribute more to future development.
I'm not saying that anyone below 150 isn't critical to the advancement of the game. New players are absolutely critical to growing the game. But if high lvls are stuck fighting in the same zones as lower lvls, I think it just builds frustration from newer players and discourages them from sticking around.
Therefore, I'm all for adding new content to spread the players out. Sprinkle in some occasional events and everybody has a great time!

The remark about the high levels doesn't take all the factors into account. The soft cap right now is 140, not 150, meaning this is where players generally stop as there are much fewer mobs their level going forward. Also, I don't think the Update should be construed as simply making more upper level content. An update SHOULD add both high level, low level, and mid level content. We were told the new update would have mobs from level 1 to 180. The meat and potatoes of this game is probably players level 80-120 so the update should have a lot of new stuff for them as well. That being said, if admin finds they are making most revenue from players who are on the higher end, then naturally they will cater to them.

All this game needs is a better user interface like organized inventory and hotbars capable of equipping armor and weapons to, better communications but the mailing system will fix that, A TRANSFER FUNCTION, smoother server loading speed, and a leystone in Tavern.
Updates is what this game needs, the whole new area being worked on right now is simply too much for developers to be focused on. once it comes out, the already high lvls will speed through the new content and the same problems with interface and versatility to fashion items etc will still remain and the developers would have not addressed the things that truly need improvement.

Yeah and whats sad is the high lvls past 120 dont need to buy platinum anymore, they can buy from the low lvls that find out how quick it is to get rich selling plat items. The elite clans also have overpowering equipment that low lvls could never obtain, and also all people that arent in Avalon in the server Morrigan, since they hoarded every last ythair dragon boss. theres literally no one with earthstone besides them. so whos gonna have to spend real money on platinum, the high levels that already have everything? or the ones that are getting to a point where they understand the economics of this game and finally have set in place a lvling system for their class, they buy platinum just to see if it helps their game, but the high lvls are the ones who are truly making out when those newbies buy the plat as the high lvls are using them with full knowledge of when, where, how to use the items...
