Re: What is a true support class?

There's usually only 3 roles in most mmorpg's, Tank/Control, DPS, and Support.

I believe each of the classes in celtic heroes can choose between 2 of these roles.

Warrior: Tank/Controller or Dps
Rogue: DPS and Maybe a tank (with reflex skill maxed, proper armour, and a druid with howling)
Ranger: DPS and a little bit of everything
Mage: Support or DPS
Druid: Support or DPS

I believe druids and mages are the only support class, they are the ones that actually have a ton (not one or two) of debuffs or buffs.

There is no way a warrior/rogue/ranger can be a full support class.

Well I think we need OTM to get an official definition of what support is.
I agree with BLDR that support is a build and not a class.
IMO support is when your main job in a fight is to help out your teammates(not including causing damage to an enemy as helping teammate).
So I agree that rangers can be support but are very obsolete to Druids and mages

Of course the build has a big effect, but it has to do with the class aswell. That's why I stated that some classes can have 2 different roles (depending on the build/skills set up). Yes, rangers are very versatile, but if its only about the build then any class can become any role. You can have a build but whats the use of it without the skills? Class and builds go hand in hand with one another.

Find me a druid that debuffs. Actually find me a druid move that debuffs.
As is mentioned, Howling Wind is a debuff. I would also argue that in certain circumstances, Abundance also acts as debuff... though some might say I am stretching the definition.

My argument is that since a strong enough Abundance can remove and replace some negative buffs (Sticky Pallor and Tearing Claws that I know of), it is in fact a debuff. It debuffs a negative buff on you.

Semantics, perhaps... but something Druids should be aware of.

If you are unaware of how this works, see here: http://www.celtic-heroes.com/forum/view ... =7&t=13327 Take note of aleph's supplement to his own post.
It was also proven effective against Dragons here: http://www.celtic-heroes.com/forum/view ... ars#p95321
