Re: i might start a ranger because.....
#12Personally, I'm not sure why Rangers were given knuckles. IMO it should have been either just rogues, or all classes..but what's done is done.
I think Rangers should be more Bow/Javelin (I hope javelins are introduced sometime soon), Rogues should be Dagger/Knucks.. A Spear isn't exactly the stealthiest option for a Rogue.
Another thing I do question is Rapidshot... Shouldn't Rogues have a skill like this for melee weapons (as traditionally the fast attacking class), and Rangers for Bow/Javelin (distance weapons).
Also Ice Shards casts in about half the time of Sneaky/Assasinate and deals just as much, if not more damage. Again, Rogues are traditionally the 'Fast' class.
Another main problem I see for rogues coming with Target Lock:
Rangers: Bolas - gonna be vital. Can hold bosses whilst team arrives.
Mages: Freeze - Can get your group the target lock and give your team 15 seconds to get set if they arn't quite there yet.
Druids: Grasping Roots - Similar to Freeze.
Warriors: Shield Bash (only 5secs) / Armour - can take a fair few blows before needing a heal.
Rogue: Nothing. Rogues have nothing at all to gain and maintain a Target Lock. They will get 2-3 hit by a boss, they have no movement spell, and their armour sucks. I could suggest Play Dead working the same as it does but not resetting the mob.. Therefore useable in combat but leaving the Rogue unable to hit.
So basically what I'd like to see for Rogues -
- A skill that gives an increased melee attack speed for X amount of seconds.
- Faster or instant skill casts.
- A stunning skill that stops enemies attacking for a X amount of seconds.

Re: i might start a ranger because.....
#13Rogue will be vital for new target lock , the first 25% (guess on %) will be most important being able to do as much dps as possible As fast as possible at start of boss fights will be insanely important .
Your post assumes first to hit will be important when admin has stated beyond an doubt that first to hit means nothing .

Re: i might start a ranger because.....
#14The admin has confirmed that target lock will be a % damage done aroun 20% so none of that will matter.
Don't wanna have rapid shot for rogue would much rather have crits as I think we would be the perfect crit class. Also having skills last no more then 1 auto to always make better dps(crits must work with skills)

Re: i might start a ranger because.....
#15Hmm, assuming the lock is at 25% and not just the first to take aggro, if Rogues are given a great increase in DPS then they will still be useful for the start. But in this case, after the first 25%, leave it to the Ranged attackersRogue will be vital for new target lock , the first 25% (guess on %) will be most important being able to do as much dps as possible As fast as possible at start of boss fights will be insanely important .

If the target lock is set to simply first aggro (I hope not), then Rogues will really have no part.
I personally still wanna see a Rapidshot skill for Rogues.

#16I want fast reflex on my warrior .
I personally still wanna see a Rapidshot skill for Rogues.
I want firebolt on my Druid
I want lure of assassins on my ranger
I want natures touch on my Mage
I want rapid shot on my rogue
Re: i might start a ranger because.....
#17But it's not like that, Elim.
Your examples are pretty far out..
Rogues are traditionally the 'fast class'. They deal a lot of damage in a short period of time (or are supposed to). Obviously rangers will still be able to attack from range and use Rapidshot from range.. I want to see a RapidShot TYPE skill, that increases our attack speed over X amount of seconds..
I'd prefer something similar to 25% attack speed for 5 seconds. Could start at say 90% attack speed for 5 seconds at level 1, getting faster with each point put into the skill.
This would be great because it is almost guaranteed to interrupt a mob/boss at the same time as dealing a nice amount of damage, but doesn't last long enough to really be overpowered.

Re: i might start a ranger because.....
#18Giving rogues a rapid type skill is op in my opinion , especially how dps works currently .
Re: i might start a ranger because.....
#19I think that would only make rogues and rangers more a like there are so many other skills which a rogue can have we are already super fast I think ranger should not have knucks above diamond. It's not there class at all. I have made a ranger lvl 114 with diamond knucks it basically the same as a rogue which is perthetic.
Life drain buff
Crit hit buff
Improve hide
Improve play dead
Don't really wanna see a rapid shot.

Re: i might start a ranger because.....
#20Well my story is this.
I had a warrior since I started, but I have basically not levelled it for about 3 months or more because I didn't feel any need to waste exilars on something not needed, only job is really tanking, imo no point having a dps warrior.
I made a druid because our clan was short of them for the big boss fights, but at level 110 I was eating untold exilars on slow levelling, so again it went on a break.
Now I have a ranger, and just autoing on a strength build is so easy, I just dual my druid and it is way too easy to level.
I have in the last week decided that I want to level my druid again so my only real option was to make a mage, again using the druid I will get it to level 130 or 140 along with the other two.
When this happens I will simply cloak the druid and have it easy again to boost upto 140.
Basically mages and rangers are pretty awesome.
Warriors can only really do tanking well.
And Druids are a bit of an arse to get levelled without help.
But if I can get them all to 140 by update ill be happy as a pig in sh*t.
A rogue? Doesn't seem an awful lot of point atm. And if I don't have one by update I doubt I will spend a few months training it to level 170-180 as it will take ages.......... But them again so do the updates.
And btw, I really hope rogues get a massive damage boost over rangers as they are pretty pore compared to pre-update.
This is hilaroous nobody talks about warriors at all ,how bad they are, when you do they go to armor but armor is cap to small and armor without heals ...
But over all we are talking only 3 playable classes rogues, mages, rangers and 2 support alt classes ( druids &warriors)
