No, terrible energy regen, too many skills so you never max anything, and They suck.

And with all those horrible handicaps they are the best DPS, best indirect DPS, arguably the best support class, and the best PVP class o_O

Yes mages are good when you have all current end game gear and are lvl 155+
But when you look at it for what it really is, its like this...
Mages are great to lvl from 1-60 then energy regain can be an issue.
A mage that this man is talking about has all the best gear possible and sigils to accompany it.
Sigils make mages better plain and simple but a mage with no sigils at lvl 150 ends up having 35 points in energy regain 35 in a support spell like a lure 35 in energy shield and then 35 in firebolt thats 140 points there.
Mages are meant to be balanced, sigils takes this wall away and let's a mage have up to 3-4 high dmg spells making them the OP mage you've heard so much of.
If you go into the mage class with the perfect knowledge of how they work you could easily lvl from 1-120 before energy regain became an issue but this is using the tavern as a goddesses house for your energy regain.

I still say go ranger because they have:

Two heal spells
A move that is like heroic gloves for free
A move that slows the enemy down so you never get hit
A move that increased the damage your player can do
A move that makes enemies have lower aggro to you
And those a all basic skill you'll get in the main quest line, maybe not the lower aggro spell but you have bolas for that.

But if u can get sigils defiantly go with mage!!!!!!!!!

To compliment your rogue , a good choice is always druid and another great choice is a tank warrior.

A druid is the best class imo because it can have kick ass dps and is by far the best support class in game

if your not a plat buyer go with ranger....and if you have 2 devices make a rogue and druid....If u buy plat mage is good....but i think every time a mage levels he should get 2 skill points instead of ....if u dont buy plat please dont make a mage it makes me sad to see noobs in stonevale struggling to keep energy wile lixed.....using energy boost and meditate...lol
