Lukov's gold grabbing guide!
Many, many, MANY players have complained about the difficulty of collecting gold. Well here is my guide for the easiest ways of collecting gold. There are a few different ways to collect gold. This will explain most ways including plat and non-plat suggestions.
Plat:
Obviously plat buyers don't need this guide but this is by far the quickest way to make some gold.
Item shop:
- bags of gold- these bags can give you up to 500,000 gold which is the quickest way of collecting gold, this is not the best use of plat.
- item sales- this purely depends on plat-gold exchange rate. Some worlds plat-gold is 1-200 some higher. This gold collecting method using plat is a much better use of plat. You tend to make more money with this method. The recommended items you should sell from plat store are; idols, resto pots, super knowledge elixirs, super haste elixirs, super combo elixirs and depending on demand rebirth and alteration books. Using the plat to gold rate you can figure out these prices easily.
Non-plat
Obviously wont make gold quickly, but much more rewarding when you save up enough for those luxury items.
-farming- this isn't the best use of your time, but it does gain you a decent amount of gold if done correctly. For farming you must:
1. Be able to kill the area mobs with little to no damage
2. Mobs must drop gold
3. Mobs drop decent items
For this method i suggest you be at least lvl 60 to do this, as connachts are the only worthwhile mob to farm from the start of the game. Farming is simple, continually kill the mobs (enemies) in the area for a long time to gain the gold they drop and the items to sell in store. This can make you 4-8k gold in an hour if done properly.
-bossing- essentially farming but only killing bosses. This can be done in a group or solo (if you are levelled high enough to). You constantly search for bosses killing them to gain their items, and gold drops.
Bosses recommended:
-Frag bosses (warden quest bosses)- these are easy in some small groups of similar level, the disc fragment drops are able to be sold to the other players for a decent amount of gold. Plus each boss will drop around 800-1000 gold to each person in the group.
-Red (Meteoric) bosses- these are best tackled in a large group of similar level or small group of higher level, some of these spawn often. Though they may spawn as place holders, they do drop gems which fetch a fine price in stores. The bosses themselves drop 3 tablets or remnants depending on the boss. Certain bosses do drop items that sell for more than other tabs or rems, but these also drop about 800-1000 gold. Definitely a good set of bosses to 'farm'. Once you can kill Deadroot you will be fighting him often for Mind Tablets, these are some of the best Tabs/Rems you can find Mind Tablet of Slates usually sell for the most. Ranging from 40-150k
-Otherworld (Frozen) bosses- these are by far the most difficult to farm, simply due to their slow spawn rate, but on a rare occasion you will get a drop worthwhile. They drop 1 ring, 1 orb and 1 crest. With the earlier bosses you will be hoping for the ring or orbs. Orbs are useful if your trying to get frozen armour otherwise they do sell for a nice price. Where as the rings can be the best drop, a royal ring of natures touch is just about the rarest ring and can sell up to 300k on certain servers. Whereas other rings such as play dead and entangle are best to be sold to a vendor. After you manage to make it to the later bosses (Chained King, Stonelord, Lavalord) you will be hoping for crests, these are some of the best items to sell, on Lugh some Lion crests sell up to 100k.
-New "bosses"- in the update there are new 5 star "bosses" these are basically money mobs, they drop up to 9,000 gold when you kill it by yourself.
-Leveling-though you may spend money on elixirs or other items to level, if done right, you can save more money than you spend. Through leveling you gain gold and items from the mobs you have killed, and due to them being a higher level than your farming mobs their items will sell for higher prices, and you gain experience! I will split this section up between druid, mages and melee classes.
Melee- these classes include rogue, ranger and warrior. They usually use a large amount of money to level by themselves wasting their gold. I suggest grouping a druid to minimise the amount of health potions you use thus saving gold.
Druid-Joining groups with a "dps" (dps means damage per second, or a player who kills mobs very quickly) character is best. They kill mobs quickly thus making your gold and item income faster.
Mages-very difficult to level with in later levels, better farming gold, but levelling it is best to make full use of the taverns regeneration boost to save time with your energy regen. If you choose to solo level i suggest using exp pots to avoid your energy depleting.
-item marketing- this is for you smarter people, as this is very difficult to achieve great incomes. You need to find players who sell any item worthy of resale cheap. Such as a heroic rejuvenation amulet for 130,000, you would buy it and resale the amulet for 170,000-180,000. This gives you an increase of 40,000-50,000 gold which could take a while to find a buyer. This is a very hard tactic to pull off. You need to know the servers economy and know what is in demand when. I wouldn't recommend this to any newcomer.
-gambling-very fast but risky way of gaining gold. Many people play the dice rolling game, basically you bet 'X' gold, and then the person rolls the dice, on the terms of the dice roller it might have to be higher than 50 or 60, if you succeed they will then double your bet. This is highly risky simply because you cannot trust a person with your gold, and you have no guaranteed way to know you will win.
-raffle-some servers play this. Basically you pay to enter a draw, you choose 'x' amount of numbers after paying the entry fee for each number, the raffles are usually drawn every fortnight or month. Depending on the players rules for the raffle, they could draw until someones number is drawn or it is the closest number to the first draw. This is again highly risky because it is impossible to know you will win.
-item selling- with every game you will always have old gear. Whats the best thing to do? Sell it to lower levels! This is time consuming though. You will only make a fraction of what you paid for the item but by the time you sell the item you will have plenty more gold where that came from.
