The Dal Riata Inquirer has learned that the patch notes from the latest server reset included an error.
  • [quote]"It seems that the Winter of Discontent quest had been causing alarming amounts of contentedness; satisfaction even!
It was therefore necessary to reduce the spawn rate of the Yule Helpers so players experience the discontent called for in this quest. It's all about player experience, really."

Here are the patch notes as published:
All servers were restarted today to address a couple of issues.

Changes include:
Spring Leaf Dryad has been restored
Increased spawn rate of Yule Helpers for The Winter of Discontent quest

There were no other changes in this server restart.
And here are the actual patch notes discovered by The Dal Riata Inquirer:

No. The first patch was to add more candycane colors, decrease spawn rate, and added shop resell value to the red, green, and purple candycanes. The reds sell for 1k each, and before the rate was decreased, you could finish quest and get a red candycane (1K) in about 2 minutes, which is op money making, not to mention the greens and purples sell for 5k and 25k. So it was either: tons of worthless candycanes with super fast spawn, or have a few candycanes you can sell, but super slow spawn. The second patch which you quoted was them increasing the previously decreased spawn rate (not by much though).

Also I dont think you can get the red, green, or purple anymore...or at least I havent gotten any...so gf everybody who sold them to shop :O

Don't forget to add that the purple candy canes (which had 100 cold damage and a freaking amazing proc) were given a level requirement of 100 (FIRST level requirement for an event wand btw) and the new canes, with no level requirement, have terrible damage statistics (the white one has a grand total of 20 cold dmg).
