Pair up with a trustworthy druid, as they can heal you easily. This will save you much time, as well as get you the levels you need. However, it does reduce the amount of exp gained if you group. (The heals will make up for this partially) Having a warrior tank in the group can also be extremely helpful, seeing as you're a mage that does not have much HP, and inflicts damage from long range.
And to answer your question about buying money and such. It really doesn't matter. I have managed to strive without doing so for my entire CH gaming experience, and have managed quite well. You can benefit greatly from items if you buy the right ones, however, that is completely up to you.
And another tip. Stay at your level, and don't push past that marker. ill monsters, and do quests which you are capable of at your level, and don't go beyond that.

I found up to about lvl 34/35 the quickest way to level is to run around shalmont and stonevale farm collecting the mushrooms the ones called fettlecaps are for a quest In shalmont, for every 4 u get some gold a potion and a load of nice xp, it's a repeatable quest but as your level gets higher the xp gets lower.

As for the grinding ur doing everything fine, try to hunt in shalmont now and aim for mobs a few levels above your own. that's just the way we all started out unless u invest in platinum to buy super knowledge elixers or regen items from the lux shop at the castle.. U need 20k in ur bag to view items by the way.

Only noobs use the fettle way to lvl.

Whats the point in being lvl 35 but having abilities like a lvl 15?

Thanks jokii90 but if some one is running around the farm waiting for fettles to spawn, what do u think they usually do with their time? Doesnt take Einstein to work out u stand and spam skills, my skills on my mage were maxed as i leveled apart from wand and thats not a big deal to a mage, notice the guy asking the question is a mage and has a Druid alt...

I've played many chars on diff servers from the first few days the game opened, Also levelled many chars both through fettles and not, and using is far faster and breaks up the grind.. As u have loads of that to do past 35/40 anyway

Tbh most noobs I've met don't use them because they simply havnt been told.. I wonder if your one of the guys that run around the farm etc who collects the fettles to sell to the low level guys

i lvld my druid a bit like this but now i do 100 heal at lvl 45 so i rly find fettles useless
