Re: The Wyrms in Mord Pit area - wow

#11

The other day, one of those wyrms in the row right in front of Mordris started attacking me. I got on my mount and flew to the upper area near the exit tunnel, and the wyrm was still in hot pursuit. :?
In fact, by that time I had picked up quite a large band of wyrm followers.

I continued on, passing by the Snorri pit; a quick backward glance revealed that they were still there, frantically trying to catch me. :o

Those buggers were so tenacious that they trailed me all the way into and through Fingals Cave, and throughout much of the Lirs Reach countryside as I hunted fairies and Shamans.

Finally I died near the entrance to the tavern, and the bevy of wyrms (there must have been about twenty) waddled their long way back to Carrow.

Oh no. No no no.

Why did you go to that awful place after I had begged you not to!?!?!?

I waited for hours in the Tavern with stale bread and a selection of Fettlecaps and Milkstalks, your favorites.

and.. to think you were laying dead on the ground on the opposite side of the door.

:(

I still would have made it to our appointment, but I ran out of "ancient resurrection idols" and had to use one of the new variety.
It took almost half a day to fully recover.

Rain check?

When I eventually exited the Tavern to return to my home in Highshore Village (after waiting 4 hours!!!!!) I saw them!!!... the Wryms I mean.

Still waddling away, stuck inside the Post and Rail fencing that surrounds the Tavern trying to get back to Carrowmore.

I Could tell something was wrong. My heart told me.

Your body was gone.

And to think, I had a full crate of ancient resurrection idols in my back-pack which would have had you back to normal in no time!

How can I accept a rain check? The only rain thats ever fallen on Dal Raita was the tears from my eyes as I made my way home to Highshore Village.

This may well be my last letter to you. It's over.

I agree that wyrm range is simply messed up, but have you tried trolls??? It's not so much that they latch on, although some do. Let me explain. Any deepfire troll that is between 180-189 has a regular aggro range of most mobs, but will follow you at least to the edge of the cave. All of the fireblood, stout, rockhide, and 190 deepfire trolls have a very small range that you have to be within arms length to aggro them, and when you run as far as, say, the diameter of the fountain in the castle, they run off into the sea of trolls that is impossible to just pull one. It's very frustrating. Please, OTM, give them the same aggro range as I'm sick of running in to pull a 190 and getting raped by a 180 that gives me 1k xp.

Correct.......

Any 'coloured' wrym or troll, as opposed to a 'normal" red-ish one, has a 25-30% closer aggro range

(they also don't run after you for so far either!)

Any wrym which you use a ranged attack on (with an obstacle in the way eg a little pile of gold, or box etc) will not absorb that damage for 7-9 seconds sometimes resulting in a dead mage.
