Re: New idols.

The idols never needed changing to begin with. When OTM planned the Destiny ebgjne update, they knew it would only run on the latest versions of IOS, so they knew in advance they would lose revenue.
The idol change helps them recoup lost revenue, while saying they're only giving players what they wanted.

Idol timers could have been re-configured to change the mechanics of boss fights.

The idol nerf doesn't just affect boss fights. It also affects players who level, and this is exactly what OTM was counting on.

That's not true at all :/ Destiny runs with older iOS versions, not perfectly but you can play it and it will probably/hopefully only get better. Lots of players also complained about idols being too good which honestly they were because they gave you full health and make bosses significantly easier and prevented druids from being useful or desired. Also there are currently so many ancient idols in the market that there is little to no difference in overall rate of death across the game and probably will remain that way for quite sometime so it wouldn't effect how much money OTM makes anyways. Not to mention everyone spends plat on chests anyways which have idols in them so it won't make a difference for a long time.

Destiny did not run with older IOS versions, and a lot of people left because they couldn't play.

If there's so many ancient idols floating around, where are they???

And you definately didn't read my post, because it says OTM COULD have tweaked idol timers to modify boss mechanics, without penalizing player leveling.

With the nerf, players die, rez, and die again because of the nerf, so more idols ARE being used.

Lastly, not everyone buys chests like you claim. The people who do, don't buy chests to get idols. That is the dumbest comment in this thread.

I've logged on my iPad which is running like iOS 7 something so Destiny in fact DOES run on older devices and iOS'.

The higher levels hog all of the ancient idols and people aren't selling ones they have. I alone have about 10k of them and know others with 20-40k, there are plenty in the market and since there are so many it isn't really effecting the death rate of everyone in the game as a whole.

Tweaking idol timer doesn't do much since you can relog to fix it and you would still revive with full health, which is the problem. And yes I did read that part thank you

Finally I never claimed people buy chests for idols, you're assuming things. I said most people buy chests with play which is a fact because they make you the most money and can have some cool items in them. Idols happen to be in these chests so lots of idols came into the market and eliminate the need to buy idols from the store separately (not 100% but mostly eliminated). People don't buy chests to get bank expansions or backpack expansions, yet they still get them  same applies for idols.

This isn't true at all... Idol changes weren't made for revenue they were made to improve the balance of the game and reduce nerfing. Before you call other people posts dumb inform yourself
