As with all physical damage (pierce, slash, crush) the damage multiplies based on the amount of strength you have. So the more strength you have, the greater the affect on your damage.

Physical Damage is the total amount of Pierce, Slash and Crush dmg your gear gives: Weapon, Offhand, Bloodlust helm, Bracelets, Misc or Necklaces.Auto Attack Damage = [0.15818*sqrt(Strength) + 0.061069*sqrt(Weapon Ability) + 0.96523] * Physical Damage + Elemental Damage
