So i have basically played all classes in game until like lvl 100. My druid has always been my main and this has always bothered me:
Why do touch, breath, bark, abudance, winds, vines and more druid skills have such long casting times? Combined with the dance or whatever it is druids make after casting a skill it just takes too long for a skill to land and actually help.
Rogues can hit like 5k in a split second
warrior skills cast like 2/3 times as fast as druid skills,
Mages also take pretty long to cast skills but as far as i have experienced and heard from mages it isnt that bad,
Rangers have just like warriors got fast casting times and a fast casting heal... (why do rangers and why dont druids?)
I was wondering what the decision of making druid skills slow was based on.
I dont see how it takes longer to touch someone with nature powers than to bash and stun a boss 10 times your size with a shield....
This also really bothers me: i fly my carpet to check some bosses and i see a friend of mine training and he almost dies. I cast natures touch on him but since it takes like 5 seconds to land touch he already died or had to use a resto...
I think the slow casting time of the most important druid skills is one of the reasons that it is the least played class and the class that is being replaced with plat items.
Re: Skill casting time, based on what??
#2I haven't played other classes, but this has frustrated me as well. The cool down timer for Nature's Touch will get slightly past quarter of the way around before it is cast, and this is after the half second delay between the cast timer and the cool down timer. I always wondered why there was a delay and why a class that specializes in magic struggles so much to cast magic spells.
Re: Skill casting time, based on what??
#3It is rather annoying when the chat bar says a Druid has casted natures touch on you. But 2 seconds later you die because it takes longer then that for the skill to actually work. Very frustrating ![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif)

#4This indeed is frustrating... A ranger is better at saving ppl who Are almost dead simply because they heal faster than a healer class....It is rather annoying when the chat bar says a Druid has casted natures touch on you. Re: Skill casting time, based on what??
#5Idk what motives otm had when they created these problems with druids, but it has been siggested in the past that it was so players would become more plat item based. True or not, idk. Has the problem that druids go into battle mode whenever they heal been fixed? That costs them much regeneration from sigils for no reason, which is expecially ridiculous since they arent even targeting an enemy. Why do druid skills cost so much energy? A healing class should be slightly more energy efficient, because their only use is the spells they cast, and when that spell amount is limited, the class also becomes limited. I hope otm focuses on balancing druids and making them much more efficient.
Contrary to the beleif that rogues are op, i beleive that all the classes suck waaay to much, and all classes need a buff, including rogues (rogues would get less of a buff then other classes of course). It would be nice to see some skills change to a one point invest, i.e. Bandage wounds would lose 50% of its casting time, and always heal 20% of hp. It would only cost one skill point. This is a prime example of making gameplay easier for everyone. It may not be a great idea, and it may actually be a good one (its not mine, but i dont remember the one who said it). That isnt the point. The point is to make the game easier to play, so that i can kill a boss with a group of a tank, two rogues, and a druid (a well balnced group) in a regular time (5 minutes-10 minutes) without being plat (especially idol) reliant. Idols and pots shouldnt be a mandatory part of gameplay. It should be plat, the item that costs real money that could save ypu a trip if you happen to die because you didnt have a druid. But if otm continues to revolve the game around these items, then these items should be availible for gold, and not 1k per item. It is rather unfair to new players on servers that dont have plat buyers (many players have quit, and many others have gotten sick of recycled content, so not much plat items circulating atm) to be required to have these items when they arent availible through regular means (Yes, trading is a regular mean, but remember im talking about servers with very little plat circulation).
One way or another, i hope otm can fix this game up quickly, and efficiently (the one thing that annoys me as much as an unfair game is a game that crashes every two minutes)![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Re: Skill casting time, based on what??
#6It's called the almighty dollar , Druids have been nerfed so you buy healing potions . Most of us 2011 players have waited for the game to expand and get better and every expansion it gets worse , to the point where it's not even worth playing anymore
Re: Skill casting time, based on what??
#71. Rogue, indeed the burst is just too high, they cant cast 4 skills before I cast one.
2. Mage, fire is fast, ice is slow but high hitter.
3. Ranger, the most idiotic thing is light heal is faster than nature's touch, makes tham a somewhat valid healers up to some point (healers alone, cannot be buffers tanking wise)
4. Warrior, also rather slow, got some fast ones but not nearly at the same dmg as fast fire skills or fast rogue skills.
5. Druid, indeed got it the worst.

Re: Skill casting time, based on what??
#8Well and we have some rangers that are healing more than druids which seems strange to me. The other thing that is weird is as a druid my heal gets interrupted almost always when attacked but rarely does it disrupt a rangers light heal.
We have a clan on my server that had a ton of rangers and the rangers kept the tank alive. For awhile they didn't even have druids.

Re: Skill casting time, based on what??
#9The game is dividend into 5 classes. This basically gives each class a role which makes the game the easiest to play and makes the most sense. By looking at warrior skills and stats on armour and all we can say that warriors are tanks. Warrior tanking skills cast pretty fast.
By looking at rogue gear and skills we can say that rogues are made to do a lot of damage. Their damage skills cast insane fast.
By looking at ranger gear and skills we can say that rangers are made to do damage and give back up support. Rangers skills as back up (bolas light heal) cast pretty fast and ranger dmg skills cast at a decent rate as well.
Mages are made to do a lot of damage and make all other classes do more damage. Lures and their dmg skill cast fast.
By looking at druid gear and skills we can all say that druids are made to keep the tank alive. Druids are basically made to be support. Then where is the part that support skills for druids should take 7 seconds to land..?
All classes have skills that cast fast as the class fits its purpose. Why dont druids? Comon otm tell us why
