If he is 37, he is about to hit one of the points where new players quit. There are some very difficult levels where there are few mobs to level on efficiently if you are not an alt that was geared by your main. I forget now exactly, but they are in the 40s and 50s. Lots of people breeze through to there, then quit. Try to do it without plat until at least 70. It is tough. I have always thought that this was a drawback to increasing the player base. With 225+ levels, the grind should have a smooth gradual climb, but the mob level distribution is not even.
That point is actually level 58.
Once you reach level 58, boars dont give you enough xp, there arent enough whisps to level on, and bloodgrove druids/pirates are too high level. This leaves you with the fairy pit as your only leveling option for level 58-65.

The problem is not the fairy pit- the problem is the loredancers in them. Even for me, a level 61 toon with full lux and ancient armour, those loredancers are the biggest pain in the ass. The reason is as soon as you aggro them, they cast their energy shield skill, which lasts ONE WHOLE MINUTE. That means that for one minute, you just have to stand there taking hits from it until you can finally kill it. Waste of lix time and extremely hard for new players to stay alive.

Aye! That's the one!

Muldar solo through that without help, lix, or excessive Lux like a noob who is just checking out CH for the first time. Then go take out your frustration on someone who can change it!

Edit: I'm not saying this because it is frustrating (my main takes out the loredances for my alts) but because we loose potential players from simple oversights that have been ignored for years.

The energy shield the loredancers use used to be unbreakable because they had seemingly unlimited energy but it was changed at some point. It can be broken now but it still requires a lot of damage, more than any new player without lux at that level would be able to do without dieing

What puzzles me is that after all this time we finally have an OTM employee playing the game, and he starts off on Android and only android and no sign of OTM on iOS.

Good luck with the ranger, maybe we'll see some change.

Haha there are players in the office they just keep their name hidden unlike me ;) But yeah haven't got an iOS device yet might see if I can borrow one today :lol:

I dont see the problem with him playing on iOS.... Its virtually the same

Actually 58 wasnt a problem for me, actually, stonevale was rather easy place for me to lvl at back at the day. My main isnt the only one I lvled without items to a certain point, I did it on my ranger as well.
I think that gearless shale is a pain, except for lvl 52 on ribbonswords (or however they're called now).

I predict that Muldar is going to quit his job after he levels ranger to 120 and sees how difficult it is to progress ranger with no plat items in small boggan rooms where few skills become useless.

Then he will start a revolution and will fix all ranger problems, raid loot problems, Skain necklace problems, nerf warriors in pvp or boost others, we will see new areas every 3 months etc

Muldar is the antichrist for OTM, you heard it here first.

I'm going to write here just to let you know that I also play the game.

The gameplay concerns you guys have are legitimate, and believe me when I say that we are constantly thinking about those issues.
There are no simple answers due to the fourth dimensional nature of an MMO. Everyone is experiencing the game in a different way at a different time and seeing the reality in their own way, hence making it so difficult to change to an "absolute best" that can benefit the entire player base.

I am part of the art team, and what I do is making things looks pretty, but you can trust me when I say that everytime there is a meeting I speak my mind about a lot of gameplay issues and work with design whenever I can, to make changes.

The things we are working on at the moment might not be visible right away, but in a couple of month time you are going to see more and more positive changes. I'm sure you'll want to come back an play more CH

We have seen some recent changes to the game for buffs, I believe this is the OTM players finally making an account and complaining to OTM team that it is too hard and what could make it better. OTM, hard to ignore a fellow worker, decided to do so.

Most games do not let you design all the stats of your character. Some give you hp automatically as you level. Some give you useful items in the beginning quest, some give you log on rewards, but this one doesn't. You're dropped on an unknown world, given noob armour that barely helps you and then you're on your own, forever.
