Re: How would you classify a "noob"?

#21
Well. I call lvls 1-50ish or so low lvls.

A newb is simply a new player.

A n00b is someone who lacks common sense, doesn't know what he is doing, is generally obnoxious and without hope. That isn't hooked to any character lvl. For more information, search "Teaweasel".
This is what actual newbie means, pretty much.

a "Noob" is just a new player, but a newb or a n00b is a player that is disliked by many and has annoying features about them. like scammers, spammers, etc.

A noob/n00b is not the same thing as a newb lol. While a newb is a new person or player, a n00b is someone unwilling to listen or learn and are an annoyance to the general population.
hehehe same difference, some of the time, occasionally..... fine, you're right I just wanna rip on newbs/noobs, as if they were a disease lol sry!!!

Ugh a good example of a noob is people who always say "Offer" when you ask "How much", then when you offer they tell you no thanks and close the trade. Why da fk can't they just say the price instead of making players who are busy trying to level stand there and chat them for 10 minutes because they are too noob to know a price before they decide to shout "Selling..."???

A noob isn't a bad word to me. A noob is just someone who is just getting started understanding how the game works and learning about it. You can usually tell if someone is a noob because they ask questions that you know the answer to, or they don't know the proper way to level, they don't know what basic things are worth, etc.; but the end of bieng a noob would probably start when you are level 60 ish AND have played more than 30-40 hours or so (if you bought your way to level 60 in under 30 hours, your probably still a noob, no offense). At that point you have pretty much seen it all as far as potential scams, you know what all the buttons do, you know what to do in certain situations, you know how to level, you know how to help people, and you know what the game is about and how it works. You basically graduated from noob to teacher.

Not to say that we all shouldn't be in a perpetual noob state of mind. When you are in the state of knowing that you don't know it all (noob) you are free to learn. But when you think that you know it all, you have no more room for growth.

For example I am a noob at helping noobs. I don't yet know the best ways to help them, should I give them free items? Would that actually help them? Should I sell items to them for what they can afford? Would that help them gain an understanding of item value or hurt it? Should I help them with quests (basically do it for them)? Or should I teach them how to better approach the game, and tell them to just focus on leveling instead of doing quests that are too hard for them?

We are all noobs at something, and we shouldn't look down on people who are noobs at this game. We should try to help them as we best know how, because we realize that we, too, are noobs right now at something. If we aren't then we are not learning anything.

Why play a class where skills cost more than other classes for same damage?
Why play a class with no auto attack?
Why play a class with 1/3 the armor?
Why play a caster?

Noob - New player, or someone that does not know exactly what they are doing. I've met level 90 noobs, and I've also met level 40's that are not :) just based on knowledge IMHO.

Anyone that begs - noob
Anyone that kses - noob
Anyone that scams - noob
Anyone that's an ass in general - noob.

There's my outlines :)

..RAP :!:
Please explain how kill stealing means your newbie, because if they can kill steal from you then clearly they aren't the newbie, or your newbier then the newbie?
+1 lol. I have "ksed" a lvl 80 when I was lvl 55 and I was casting while they went up to the mob and attacked. Obviously they thought I was the kser because they were engaged first, but I was in the middle of casting on it when they engaged. I ended up getting the kill and the 10k item drop and they got all pissy. Obviously they were the noob in the situation since they couldn't outdamage a lvl 55.

A high level "jerk" (or noob as some would say) is one that sees a low level or low level group camping and getting ready to fight a hard mob for them, and they come in and kill the mob without accepting the group request.

With defectors this happens more often than not.

Call them a noob or jerk or whatever, especially when your low level char gets the Ks! In this case I would argue that the high level is the kser because they literally tried to steal the kill from a helpless noob even though they may have "engaged" first.
