Welcome to the Forums, Dave!

The road to endgame is a long, and usually expensive one. If you're willing to go that far, well.. Just take your time and get some gold if you can't kill mobs too well. Here's what you can do:

0) (Optional) Skip everything in this guide and threaten to kill Muldar if he doesn't give your account godlike stats, boosts you up to level 240 and gives you a version Boots of Running Quite Fast that boosts speed by 10k%.

1) Starter Questline, get the crit abilities while you're at it. Don't buy anything.

2) Stay in Dustwither Catacombs until you're 30. If you want you can keep going until 40. Don't buy anything.

3) After leaving the Catacombs head to Shalemont Ravine. Spread around this area are 14 bosses. Talk to Kail the Defector and defeat all of them, preferably with a higher level player. Sell the combination elixir you obtain from the quest for a good boost of gold. Don't buy anything yet, though. If you're at least level 38 after this, you can move into the Twisted Tunnels in Fingal's Cave and beat up the rats & bats there. Each time you kill one there's a small chance of getting a Ring or Skill Tome. Sell them unless they're Ranger Tomes you want. Royal Rings from this area sell for as much as 24,000 gold. Don't buy anything yet.

4) When you reach level 48 you can decide between moving into Stonevale, going farther into the Twisted Tunnels (up to 60) or fighting the Connachts a bit more. Do whichever you want, but if you need more gold I recommend the second option. When you're stronger you can come back here and kill the big bears around the area. They have a 100% chance of dropping either a Ring or Skill Tome, and the Rings are always Greater, Grand or Royal. Sell everything you get and don't need. No buying.

5) When you reach 60, join a good clan on your server that does Warden bosses. Know where each boss spawns and kill as many as you can. Each drops around 1000 gold and drops an item for a new set of armor along with a new weapon. Your Shoreline Bow should be really underpowered right now, but try to hold on a bit longer. By the time you reach level 80 you should have at least 120,000 gold to spend. This won't get you top tier luxury, but it's a good amount. Try to resist the temptation of buying that item you saw. Save up more and kill more Warden bosses. When you're 80 get the Bow of the Four Winds. It's from the Wardens. If you get enough disc fragments from the bosses without buying any, you will have gotten the entire Greythorn set, plus the bow. It's really good, too. Next step, the buying starts.

6) If and when you have about 170,000 gold, buy a Golden Quiver of Fire from a player. If you can't find one it's 225,000 in shop. You should find yourself destroying everything. Keep these two items as long as you can. Don't buy anything else.

7) The best way to earn experience is the questline in the Otherworld, started by talking to Arbiter Kester. This is a very long questline, but I recommend it if you want fast, non-grind experience. When you reach Carrowmore Tunnels by this questline you'll have found a good levelling area for levels 88-190. When you get to the part of the questline where you have to kill a giant scorpion, do the repeatable as much as you can. It got me two levels in an hour last week, free.

8) As you go from levels 85-105 get the Meteoric Set and Bow. These are better than your Greythorn gear in every way.

9) When you're 120, you'll realize this game is going to be a big, fat grind. No more OW questline to breeze you through 80-120. Now you're on your own. Do as many bounties as you can each day. Do the gladiator. Do all daily/weekly quests you can. Lix whenever you find the time. That's what CH is past 120. I haven't experienced it yet, but believe me, it's hell.

10) Going from 120-132 you can get the Onyx and Obsidian armor sets. They're obtained from the quests given by Jowan Steelhand in the Otherworld. I don't recommend this; you can just as easily do frozen bosses and sell the shards you get from killing Blackstones. Frozen is an upgrade to Meteoric. Unlike the past two, though, you won't get it from the Wardens. It's from just outside Gelebron's Tower, in the Otherworld. It's pretty good, too, but you won't use the armor set for more than 10 levels because at 140 you'll get the Beastbone Set. And keep your bow until 160. It's obtained on a way similar to the O sets above, but it's way better. Farm Boggans in Carrowmore. If you get more than 15 of any type of Bone Shard, sell them. Boggans go from 120-160 so you've lots of levels to farm them for shards while lixing. I'm pretty sure shards drop from those above 140.

11) At 150 you should replace your old, worn-out luxury with brand-new 150 luxury. Although it was introduced 3.5 years ago, it's good lux for 150. Sell your old lux. Buy the new quiver, and if you have regen problems get the Talisman of the Stars. You'll keep this until 200, hopefully.

12) At 160 get the Ancient Wyrmbone Bow and Ancient Beastbone set. If you want to use any of the Dragonlord pieces go ahead.

13) At 168 you can decide between entering Gelebron's Tower or staying in Carrowmore until 190. Either way, make sure to get the Alchemical and Occult sets from the Tower as you level up, whether buying vials or farming them. These will probably stay with you until endgame unless you get some EDL/DG pieces. At 180 purchase the Spellwrought Bow. Keep your lux until 200. Pretty sure the 200 lux shop and Thaumaturgic vendor are on Floor 4.

14) Level up to 220, and on the way get the Thaumaturgic Bow and better versions of your current lux.

15) Enjoy your status as Endgame Ranger.

That was a pretty long read, but it makes sense. Thanks a lot!

No problem. And yeah, it's pretty long now that I think about it. Just follow it as you go along. It'll get you quite far, hopefully. Many people quit before reaching endgame.

I am loving the ranger class! The damage sure is low as compared to rogues but everybody keeps on telling me that it will pay off in the end.
Your guide is amazing, already made a bunch of gold!

Great to know I helped you! Be sure to check out Bitey's blog for his guides. They're even better. If you want to check the stats on any items, along with some quests, take a look at Anexander's website. Both sites are extremely helpful to me.
