I think it would be an amazing addition to fishing in this next update if you also make a leaderboards for fishing. It will make the competition way more fun and will keep more people fishing for longer trying to gain that top spot. Please please please make this happen with the winter update, lvl 45 to 120 is a huge jump to not add some cross server competition.

Not anymore than the already *** measuring contests we already have on the leader boards like highest skill hit which is done with gear you normally wouldn't use in a build you normally wouldn't have against the castle dummies

dummy hits shouldn't be counted in leaderboards. but not much can be done with rebirthing to full str or dex and borrowing every clannie godly items anyway.

The last time i tried to get on top of leaderboards was in Update 3, and then afterwards felt how fake and pretentious it was. Now all my leaderboard stats are just for myself, a record high hits of my chars, based on actual gear I use and on mobs I fight. More satisfying to see and break, in my personal opinion.
