Lir currently has 4 clans capable of locking and killing dl (Emperrors, Knights of Sidonia, Brotherred, and Shaolin), 3 clans that can kill aggy (Emperrors, Knights of Sidonia, Brotherred), 2 clans that can kill Necro, Mordie, Hrung, and Proteus (Knights of Sidonia and Emperrors). This makes gearing toons take way longer since 6*s don't always spawn, and if they do, there is 4 clans that are there to kill it. Because of this, gear distribution is very thin and it takes a looong time to gear enough people in order to take down the higher level raid bosses. It's hard enough to get ~35 people on for a raid already, then you add the fact that not everyone is fully geared etc. Competition is fun and all, but it makes it exponentially harder to gear enough people for bosses when you are competing with 3 other clans all very capable of getting lock over you if you make a mistake/are undergeared.
Also, the level 220+ people are distributed pretty evenly between the top two clans, with a fair share in other clans as well. This makes it way harder to get enough level 220s on at the same time for a high level raid boss like Gele, Prot, Necro, and Mordie.
(Griefing rarely occurs, but I've witnessed it a few times on Necro and the occasional pulling of 6* dl bosses)
