What’s even more sad is that there is a Suggestions and Feedback thread, which has a LOT of great ideas for improving the game, which we rarely see being implemented. Why even have that section of the forum if it isn’t going to be used as such? At the moment it’s more of a gamers wishlist for stuff to happen that never will.

OTM does a decent job with the game, but they need to be more player driven in what they do and implement into the game. If you’re not basing your decisions off of what players are suggesting, and giving feedback on, you’ll start to lose customers. When things are implemented at a slow rate, you’ll lose customers.

I know that staffers are busy there, but rarely do you see them posting their own feedback on the suggestions and feedback that has been given to them. Higher player to developer interaction with regards to game evolution would be great.

There’s a lot of aspects to this game that with minor tweaking would take out the stress and hours upon hours of mind numbing grinding and camping. Aspects that wouldn’t take months to implement into the game, but would greatly enhance gameplay making it more enjoyable.

Why must we spend hours just to work a new pets ability? Why can’t we just have Pet Taming for all pets? Especially once you’re end game, sitting there on a wisdom lix just to get 25 points towards maxing your new pet sucks, and it sucks hard. What makes these pets worth more, is the skill. Without ability the skill is near useless. Once you get past 800+ ability, the gains per lix slows drastically. Let’s say you’re at. 1k ability, gaining 35 points per lix, to get to 2k ability that’s roughly 28 heroic wisdoms which translates to 7+ hours of sitting there hitting the same button, over and over and over again. Not to mention mount skills with longer duration. This is supposed to be a mobile game, not one where you have to sit attached to a wall charger and spend what equates to a full day at work, simply working up your pet ability.

Simply create one pet ability to rule them all. That way when a new pet or mount comes out, you get to enjoy all the hours you put into training, and enjoy the pet to it’s fullest right away.

Don’t take this thread as complete negativity, rather what people are hoping changes, and changes soon to keep player interest and the player base alive. A lot of what people have said here are minor things to be tweaked. Changing boss timers, not hard. They have mini events where this happens, why not make it permanent so people don’t spend hours camping on a MOBILE game.

I enjoy the game, there’s a reason why I’ve stuck around. There’s things I like about the game and things I don’t like about the game. It’s really hard to invest in a game where updates happen 1-2 times a year. We understand that the OTM staff isn’t the biggest, but once again, even having mini-updates would go a long way to make the players happy.

There is no need to wrap 50 new updates and changes into one large update. Keep the players consistently happy and you’ll have success. When you have a new update people log for the first few weeks, and then it dips hard until the next update. You don’t make good money that way. Implementing things every month or every two months would keep people coming back for more to see what’s new and has changed.

You bring up a lot of good points, and I agree with many of them. There are a few that I'd like to play devils advocate on though

For the updates a few times a year
OTM seems to have been releasing updates quarterly (every 3 months). They may not have been the largest updates, for instance one of them was just cooking, another was just an auction house. The way the game is built, and the way Apple approves their updates isn't conducive to the way the game is built to have an update every week, or even month. The update has to be planned out, then built, then it has to go through bug checking QA, bug fixes, then testing (on all the many types of devices Android and Apple), then it goes back for more fixes, testing, fixes, and so on. After there's a product it gets released to beta test, players start tearing it apart finding bugs, and the bugs get fixed. Then it gets shipped to Apple/Google to get put in the app/play store, and Apple needs to approve it first. Then we get the update. It's a long process, which takes a lot of people coordinating efforts, and a small game company doesn't have the resources to do all that every month. Which is why we get quarterly updates.

As for the content of the updates, the last few ones we got cross-platform play, cooking, another was just an auction house, earlier than that were battle mounts, and fishing. They don't sound like much on their own, but it took effort to create those and get them into the game. They aren't as flashy as a new zone, but they were necessary to have, and people were asking for them since the beginning of the game back in 2011. Now I know that they should have been done a long time ago, and probably a larger game company could have done all of this earlier along with events. When Celtic Heroes was released, it was a good mobile MMO, and part of that was lack of competition in the mobile MMO category. That time has come to an end since there are a lot of other competing games now. And CH some features haven't kept up with the competition. This is one reason, in my mind, why OTM has tried to get CH up to speed with new features, and have been learning how to monetize their game better so that they can keep up with the competition. I saw someone say recently about Pokemon Go, which was released 1.5 years ago, that if you give it a few months it will finally be ready for it's initial release. That's kind of how I feel about CH right now with regards to its competitors. If this game was released right now instead of back in 2011, it would still be lacking many of the features that its competitors have.

tl;dr: We don't get updates as often because OTM is a small company. OTM is adding critical features now, but CH is not keeping up with the competition.

I get that it takes time Bitey, I was just giving an example.

If they’re going to be doing smaller updates, they should really look at what the players want and go from there. Player frustration of things not being fixed, or taking years to be fixed is evident in the forums, and by the amount of people who have quit, or gone really inactive.

As you stated, they’re behind the ball in terms of what other MMOs have to offer now in comparison. They have a decent loyal player base, so they should be working hard to keep that base happy by implementing things that those players want/have been wanting for years... otherwise those loyal will move on.

Yes seems like for many of us gardens is going to be our last hope, and reliance on real money really hurts a game. But some things have changed for the better and ch is waaay better than it was 7 years ago, but otm guidelines and heavy focus on squeezing money from players is holding it back

Only reason it’s doing so well because there’s little competition for this type of game, but seems like other mmo popular titles are coming to ios, so if otm doesn’t listen to its players it will lose over 50% of them.

What an annoying and unnecessary post.

Must be glad you got that off your chest.
