The Hellsteed Mount and Samhain Fashion Sets will be leaving the store soon, so don't delay! Pick up the Witchbane Mystery Chests for a chance to obtain these seasonally exclusive items before they're gone.

After that will existing Dark Essences still work ?
Will people be able to turn back their mount for half of essenses if they want ?
Current chests will still contain essences if they were bought before but not opened ?
Will Hellsteed and or spirit mounts get any buff ?

My personal guesses:
- No
- Maybe? But if the above is No, then it would be a bad move
- Yes
- No

I'm assuming when they say that the mount will leave the store, it won't be available for purchase with essences. If that's the case, then trading your mount in for essences wouldn't work. I'm assuming they won't change the drop rates on the existing chests, so essences would probably stay in them, with the assumption that most people won't be saving chests for an extended period of time. Buffing the mounts would be a horrible idea, after they are no longer available.

People have asked about it being immortal (no dismount upon death) seemed reasonable to me.
Buffing it after they no longer available is not good idea to me too, tho they are still available.

This is kind of funny, they left the other event up for almost a year but the samhain event barely lasts a month

I strongly agree that insanely rare, 6 tiered, short-lived event mounts are a bad idea. Even if VR doesn't change the Hellsteed mounts, I certainly hope they take a different look at this structure moving forward, and make the next event-exclusive mount (if there will even be another) only a single tier, or at the very most two tiers.

Let me expand on what I said:
Buffing the mounts when they have been in the game for a month, and when they are about to be removed (possibly as early as Monday) would be a bad idea (especially if it's a major change, like immortality). I'm sure there are plenty of people who have passed up buying essences because they are overpriced, and because they know they'd need several to get to a useful point. Suddenly making mounts a more attractive option would not be fair.

Immortality would be an awesome buff for event mounts, and I said that at the very beginning of the event. However, changing them this late in the event is simply waiting too long, and would be a bad idea (in my personal opinion, of course, which is worth just as much as yours in the grand scheme of things). If VR had buffed the mounts within a few days or a week of the event starting, this would have been a completely different story. The reason I phrased it as "after they are no longer available" is because VR seems to move fairly slowly for a small company, and since it's coming up on the weekend, it would probably take them at least until next week before making the decision to do it, as well as make the change (depending on how easy it is) which could be after the event is over, if it's ending next week with the end of the double platinum sale (which would be my guess, or soon after).


While you are completely entitled to your opinions of myself, I do want to point out that I said the idea was horrible (which may have been a bit strong, it's mostly just not a really good one to me)...not that you yourself were horrible. I'm sure that you are a perfectly normal person.

Difinitus, please answer these questions prior to double plat...

1. Are you guys going to change the hellsteed tier system so only 1 essence is needed to obtain the top tier stats?

2. If not, are you increasing the drop rate for essences?

3. When is the essence being removed from chests?

4. Will essences already in people's inventory be usable after they are removed from unpurchased chests?

5. Could some still be in purchased unopened chests after they are removed from store chests, or are contents determined at the time chests are opened (and therefore wouldn't be in the chest loot table after removed from the store?

Nothing about this information should be secret from us. It is information we need to determine how we want to spend our money. If you think not telling us would increase our chest buying, just imagine how many chests you'd sell if the hellsteed truly was very limited (both in drop rate and in availible time) but wasnt tiered so finding 1 guaranteed the t6 stats?

Sorry guys, but it's hard to justify investing anything at this point. It breaks my heart to say, but it appears to me that VR only cares to wring the last few bits of coin from CH loyals before throwing in the towel. Feel free to correct my perception or respond with anything positive...

Im starting to feel this. I feel like this very shot event with the hellsteed mount was a way to
force as many sales as they can before wahammer comes out so they can scrap CH. Kind of like a burst sale if u know what I mean. Ik what schwing said in this post but I don't see it anymore

VR, its not too late. So few of the hellsteeds exist in the game already that you could fix this fiasco by giving the current hellsteed mounts all the top tier stats, keep the rare drop rate but make the essences create only the top tier hellsteed when used.

The only way this would work is if anyone with a higher tier mount will get essences back for each tier - e.g. someone with a tier 4 will get 3 essences.

I think that having tiered mounts as a temporary addition was a pretty bad idea. Now, if they had been achievable through hard work - such as through a quest, that's a different story. However, due to the insane rarity, there isn't much point in having a lower tier mount outside of the simple fashion aspect. If that had been the intention, essences should have been made 25x more common, with 50% stats. I'm sure people would prefer that to what has happened this event.

Agreed, but they did create it and now the only way to make it make sense and be fair to everyone is to eliminate the tier aspect, keep the uber rarity, and remove it from chests as planned. Yes they would need to reimburse essences to anyone who managed to find and use more than 1...all 3 of those folks. Lol.

They cannot go back now and increase the drop rate because that would not be fair to all the people who bought chests in support of the event opening all the way til now. It wouldn't be fair to people who made buying and selling decisions about the hellsteed mount for VR to go back on their word and keep the essences around in chests for longer, and it seems like a huge mistake to just leave things as they are now and leave everyone hanging who ends up having wasted tons of gold n plat trying in vain to complete the impossible hellsteed.

Eliminating the tier would fix the whole mess, please everyone involved, and increase chest sells even more this weekend....and the only thing close to a negative is that a few people would get reimbursed in the form of some of the essences they already used. Im not even sure there is a single t6 hellsteed on each server though, so this could only be at most a handfull of people.

How is that fair to everyone? That's only fair to those who bought essences and screws over anyone who knew they couldn't afford the top tier so they chose not to invest in essence. Hypothetically speaking I could have just bought one essence and gotten a way better mount than 90% of the player base. I think its a bad idea.
